I am planning a 'surprise' anniversary & birthday celebration trip October 13-27+. I would appreciate your help/wisdom/advice with these questions:

How is the weather during that time period?

Any special events during that time that would hinder getting great accommodations (quiet, private 1 bedroom place...near beach??)...or do you have an exceptional place you recommend close yet not on the beach?

And what would be your 'top 10'...must see, must do, must experience and/or must meet during our visit?

I am grateful for your assistance...Linda

Welcome to BT Linda. If you use the search feature on this site, you will find most of your answers. Bonaire is wonderful anytime of year.

A. Weather always idyllic.
B. Just being there is a special event.
C. All places are quiet, more or less; but CocoPalm/Casa Oleander in Belnam is even more so, a few minutes from everywhere, and just a stroll from Bachelor's beach.
D. And now, for the top ten:

10. Amstels at Karel's at sunset as you look for the "green flash".
9. Catch some wind at Lac/Sorobon (windsurfing, or in a different way if you prefer)
8. Birdwatching in Washington-Slaagbai park
7. Get-togther w/ BTer's at Gibi's
6. Sunday barbecue at Lac Cai.
5. Get 15 minutes of fame at Jake & Linda's "Hato-wood" (standing at the gate this long should net at least 3 or 4 exposures on the webcam.)
4. Make your way to the top of Spelonk lighthouse.
3. Market day in Rincon
2. Snorkel the Mangroves, or anywhere...
1. Pick a dive site, any dive site!

I def. agree on looking for the "green flash" at Karel's, and then going to City Cafe if a band is playing... Don't miss the Town Pier dive, and Jerry's Reef (on Kline Bonaire) was a great place to see turtles!

And don't forget Klein Bonaire !!! Unless you're concerned about the sun (my husband is), that might be a great place to spend the celebration day (or afternoon) with a nice picnic and snorkel gear :-)
