I am planning a trip end of July and have reserved with sand$.I have never been to Bonaire before and I am limited by guidebooks and your BT pots.It seems some people have had problems at this resort??Its not too late for me to find other accomodations if these are inadequate?I am not a diver-snorkeler and plan on adventurously exploring the entire island via rental car.ANY advice would be most helpful. The package I reserved includes car and breakfast daily.I know many people have responded to similiar posts and say no place is bad but this is probably the only vacation I will have for awhile(Im a stressed teacher!).
Thanks,
Abby

Abby, You will have a great time at Sand Dollar. Some people might say were partial because we own a unit there, but Sand Dollar is a very nice place. Joan is a NYC special education teacher and we go there for stress relief ourselves. Please feel free to call us with any questions. BTW, when will you be there?

Abby,
We've been to Bonaire and stayed at Sand$ for the past 6 consecutive years. We have found no reason to change to any other; well that's not exactly true, next year we are moving to Captain Don's Habitat for the last four nights of our three weeks because we won a 4 night/5 day dive vacation package from them. Sand$ is a wonderful, relaxing place to base your exploring from. Also, Mango's Restaurant is right there; as well as Chat N Browse, a small grocery store, and Bonaire Dive & Adventure.
Have fun!

Happy Hour is every day at Mango's (Sand Dollar's restaurant), 6-7pm; fancy folks up north may go to "stress management" lessons--we go to happy hour. It works. It also doesn't hurt that it's sunny & breezy every day-a great stress releiver too.

You'll be fine. I predict two things: 1. You will become a snorkeler (because it's so easy and so wonderful here), and 2. Your biggest problem will be the same as everyone else's: leaving Bonaire.

Abby -- you're going to love Sand Dollar, and the diving in Bonaire. I was there for 7 days back in January, and am going again for 2 whole months in October-November. The people are very friendly, the accommodations are excellent, and the diving is world class. The atmosphere is laid-back, so it's a great place to unwind, and let yourself be pampered.

Ruth,

Why must you always rub it in??

Hey, we are arriving for an "emergency" Bonaire trip on July 25th (we just planned and booked it today).

You want some two day old, cold Krispy Kremes??

-dave.

P.S. Someone had better warn the Rose Inn that the Blue Archers are droping in.......

Dave, I rub it in for the same reasons dogs lick...well, you know. And kk's are always welcome; it's not like we have fresh ones to compare them to-how will we know they're 2+ days old? I wonder if you can freeze them?

;-)
