We will be in Bonaire for the first time in January 2004. My husband and I are avid snorkelers and I dive. We are looking for a pleasant place close to town so we can try various restaurants, has a pool and is oceanside.

We booked a deluxe oceanfront room at Divi for our week there. We were not planning to rent a car for the whole week. In shopping around I also noticed Eden Beach and the apts. at Sun Oceanfront at very good rates. Is Divi worth the extra expense? Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

The Divi is usually where we stay and we are avid snorkelers. We are very happy there and there is an abundance to see in the water right at the resort. The Woodwind also sails out of the Divi and does awesome guided snorkel sails!!The life around the cement pier is incredible!!! It is a beautiful walk to town and many restaurants along the prominade. There is a lot of detail in my trip reports so do a search and check them out. We also stayed ocean front and it is beautiful!

We also stay at the Divi, it's a short walk to town, right along the shore line. While the Divi Beach is not large, it does have one. Many resorts on Bonaire don't have a beach. But I must admit the resorts, --Divi included-- do have easy access to the ocean via steps or ladders.

We'll be going back this November, and this year I don't think we'll rent a car. This will be our 5th visit. You'll be happy staying at the Divi.

Please e-mail if you have more questions.

I have been a guest at Divi twice and have referred clients there. It is a great hotel. There are many chairs to enjoy the sun, a little spit of sand to chill and clear see to the bottom water. The bars are oceanfront and Frits runs a great operation. A minute walk to Playa..enjoy!

:-)

Annie speaks like a local...."Playa" is downtown, seaside, in case you didn't know. (Hi Annie!).

Taylor,

We stayed in a deluxe ocean front room last year and had a really great time. You can't get a room any closer to the water. The restraunt at Divi, Chibi Chibi, is really good. I thought breakfast was kind of pricy, but I am cheap by nature. You can ask for a fridge in your room for a small extra fee. It is a little bigger than a dorm fridge. We found this handy for drinks and some groceries. Try a night snorkel off of the divi dock, I guarantee you will see a lot of interesting things.

Shelly
