I am begining to pack for my honeymoon. This will be the longest trip I have ever packed for since we will be spending a week in bonaire and a week in curacao. I am in hopes that I can pack half as much and simply do laundry. Does anyone know if Buddy Dive has laundry facilities?

No idea about Buddy's for laundry facilities. I was in Bonaire a year ago and asked around for launromats and discovered Caribbean Laundry. You take your dirties, they weigh them, give you a price and two days later you pick everthing up clean and folded. I believe I paid $7.00 for three bags of assorted t-shirt, shorts, undies, etc. and it was well worth it. In fact we used it twice during our two week stay, it was easy and reasonable.

Cameron, if you are thinking of doing laundry you are BRINGING TOO MANY CLOTHES. Really, a one decent pair shorts for dinners, a couple decent shirts for same, one lounging around short and shirt, a boat tee shirt. That's probably enough for a week, it's an informal island. You need to not wear swimsuits to town, but that's about it on dress code. Pair of sneakers you came down in and some sandals. You will surely buy t- shirts or something while on the island anyway. I know this is hard to understand, but you really don't need so many clothes. If they don't all fit in one bag with plenty of room left over you're bringing too many clothes.

Buddy's does have an on site washing machine and a dryer, but I would follow Christin's advice...you have the rest of your life to do laundry and only so much time to spend in Bonaire or Curacao, don't waste it doing wash.

Oh, and congratulations on the wedding, best to both of you.

Curacao is much more formal, and the casual wardrobe from here will probably make you feel uncomforatble there, where people tend to dress up a bit more when out in public. You'll see most businessmen in long sleeves & ties, but a nice shirt & slacks for you will be fine, & pants/blouse a/o summer dress for wife (no stockings necessary, but definitely no t-shirts, sneakers, beach shoes, etc. in non-beach restaurants in Curacao). Curacao also has many nice nightclubs to dress for too.

Cameron:

We stay at Buddy Dive often. They do have a laundry machine and a drier. We pack light. Light enough that we will wash some t shirts and shorts. Laundry is kind of expensive, but REMEMBER TO ASK HOW IT OPERATES, YOU CAN RUN MORE THAN ONE LOAD ON ONE TOKEN. We always forget that until it is too late. It is timer rather than by the load.

Have fun at Buddy Dive. We love it.

Dave

As I recall it was about $10 us for 2 tokens. My friend did the laundry so I'm not sure, but he did a couple of loads for the money.
