We are considering Sunset Ocean Villas, Sun Rentals or Bonaire Beach Villas. We are looking for oceanfront, one bedroom or studio with reasonable rates $100/night or less for my husband & myself. Has anyone stayed at any of these resorts and if so, would appreciate your comments.
Thanks.

I am planning our first trip to Bonaire (been to Belize 10 times - time to move on as the crowds are arriving) Where would a family of 5 - our kids ages 12,9,8 and 2 adults find nice but not luxury accommodations? Looking for 2 or 3 bedroom condos with kitchens walking distance from snorkeling, must have pool. 3 of us are divers. Thanks

Jules

Jules,

Welcome to the board. A couple of places to check out are Sand Dollar http://www.sanddollarbonaire.com/ and Buddy Dive http://www.buddydive.com/ . Both places have 2 and 3 br (I think SD has some 4 as well)with kitchens, pools, are on the water and are nice places. I am sure there are others. Where ever you decide, you will want a vehicle of some sort. Some resorts include them in the package, others do not so make sure you are compairing like packages. The typical vehicles are minivans and small 4dr pickup trucks. The trucks hold 4 adults comfortably and I suspect 2 adults and 3 kids in the back would be comfortable as well
Speaking of packages, I would not get an "all inclusive". There are loads of great places to eat on the island. Myself, I would hate to be stuck only eating at the resort with so many other good choices. This is not to trash the restaurants at the resorts, lots of them are great. One exception to this, the resort package we get has breakfast included. It's kind of hard to hurt breakfast and the resort we stay at has a great breakfast buffet and when I compaired prices, it worked out to be a good deal.

Jules, Crown Courts 44a Sabadeco is a nice 3-bed house with private pool and private ocean access. Has a well-equipped kitchen, TV, sound system etc.. plenty of space for all of you. It is not the cheapest of places, but it is cheaper than some of the resorts. It is available for rent at http://www.sunrentals.an under vacation rentals.

I have stayed there myself, would highly recommend for a family. If it's not what you're looking for, I hope you find something suitable and enjoy Bonaire.

Sarah
