I'm trying to plan a mid January trip and figured there would be some decent hotel bargains (the airfres look good) but it seems there aren't or at least I'm not finding them. In fact Eden Beach hasn't even returned my request for information from last week. Are things that busy (he asks sarcastically)?

Is anyone aware of good deals for the winter?

BTW, I'm not looking for a steal but every place else is discounting...

January is peak season so I doubt there are any sales but compared to other Caribbean islands, Bonaire is very affordable. I am aware of properties 55.00 and up per night. There are so many options and all are VERY good..Annie

BTW, may islands discount if they offer charter deals. Since there are no current charters to BON and sked air is the only option "deals" are not as prevalent as say in Aruba or Antigua. However, I am glad..I would like to keep the masses away from our little gem...

Ann, thanks for the reply. I realize Jan. is peak season but tourism is doing so poorly almost everywhere I just figured...Besides I've always had decent prices even during boom times, it just seems odd for Bonaire to be so high with empty rooms.

We've been to Bonaire over 25 times now and I'd hate to miss two years in a row (missed 2002 due to achilles tendon surgery), thats why I'm trying every angle and searching under every rock for a do-able rate...

Check out Bonaire TownHomes, for a one-bedroom bungalow with complete kitchen for around $60 per night. They only have two units, so may not be available, but the rates are great, the location quiet and private, and the units very complete, clean and comfortable. I'm spending six weeks there next year, so it has to be very comfortable. The owners, who live on the compound, are also very friendly and go out of their way to make their guests' experience the best. www.bonairetownhomes.com or email them at info@bonairetownhomes.com

Tom, we met at the Divi in February 2001. We are going down next month over Christmas. I had basically the same problem, but after some search, we found a couple of good deals, including air. Some places got right back to me, and others did not. I hope you are successful. How are you doing anyway? By the way, try the Dive Inn, Sun Rental Apts. etc. Bruce is always great at getting back to you at the Carib Inn. Unfortnately, they were booked.

Hi Jim. I certainly remember meeting you as well.

I have received three or four emails from prospective lodging locations and they are pretty good offers so I think I'll be in luck.

I'm trying to save some $$$ this trip as we're rennovating our home AND it's our 20th anniversery this spring & I'd like to do something really nice (maybe Bonaire for two weeks, lol!)

Our visit is planned (tentatively) for the middle of January & I'm getting psyched! We even joined a gym to get into shape! - Although seiously I'm trying to make sure that the achilles tendon I had repaired in April is fully strengthend.
