Divi Flamingo is pretty much acessible but not too sure if the time share side with kitchens is. Better check directly with Fritz. Other than that there is not much else that would fit.

Annie,

The Moray Wheels Adaptive Scuba Club from Boston has researched properties on Bonaire and they used Divi. Give them a holler through the contacts on their web page (http://www.moraywheels.org/). Some sections around the circular 'courtyard' that was there earlier are deliberately accessible as are some of the boats. The staff was knowledgable also. I also saw other chairs there last year and believe that HSA uses Divi. Doubt the time share area is accessible. The Morays did a survey of island properties so may have more input. Good people, too!!! HSA might have comments.

The ground floor of the Divi timeshares are wheelchair accessible. The bathrooms are more than a bit tight to move a wheelchair around in, but anyone with upper body strength or a helper should be able to get into and out of the WC and shower area. The bathroom sink is in a seperate area. Putting one of the porch in the shower to sit in would be a good idea. I have stayed at Divi several times when the HSA was there.

One of their dive boats is 'drive on' and the dive masters are very good with helping anybody that needs any assistance.

Make that the ground floor timeshares and one of the porch chairs to sit in.

The interior doors of the center area rooms were widened for WC access; I don't believe they have cooking facilities.

I just stayed at Capt Don's Habitat with a paraplegic diver, with excellent access. More than half of the accommodations are wheelchair accessible, and with the ramp to their docks and lockers, the diver could literally roll down to the end of the dock, and fall off into the water. The staircases on the dock made egress possible with safety (back carry!).

The dining areas, the lobby, and a large portion of the grounds are wheel chair accessible with no effort. Getting into the dive shop is a little restricted.

While we did go to other sites to dive on the North and South ends of the island, we ended up spending most of our dives right off of the Habitat pier, swimming north and south for variety, and doing many night dives that would not have been possible otherwise.
