Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a daily limit at which the tourist tax would no longer appy? For example, if you are staying longer than a month, do you still have to pay $5.50/day.

Also, does the tourist tax apply to private rentals?

Thanks

For stays of longer than 30 nights, the government does not charge occupancy tax. And yes, private rentals are responsible for paying all taxes, including the occupancy tax.

Thanks, Sharon. We have heard both ways on this issue. Does a stay of over a month long exempt you from the $5.50 or $6.50 (BONHATA) per person/per night tax? Can you sight the authority on that so we can get it in writing?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help us out on this matter. We have always stayed well over one month and have paid some years, and have not had to pay other years. We'd like not to pay with an extended stay because it really adds up!

They Will charge touristtax or you must have a letter from the goverment that's tell you that you don't have paid touristtax!!!!

Also with the new rules the privet houses must also paid touristtax.

Thanks for the info...like Sparty we have heard it both ways as well. It does add up when you are staying longer than a month.
