For stays of longer than 30 nights, the government does not charge occupancy tax. And yes, private rentals are responsible for paying all taxes, including the occupancy tax.

Thanks, Sharon. We have heard both ways on this issue. Does a stay of over a month long exempt you from the $5.50 or $6.50 (BONHATA) per person/per night tax? Can you sight the authority on that so we can get it in writing?

They Will charge touristtax or you must have a letter from the goverment that's tell you that you don't have paid touristtax!!!!
