I'm looking to dive in Bonaire for the first time with my 16 year old son. What's a cool place to stay which is convenient for diving? I'm most interested in something that is relaxed,on the beach and fun. It doesn't have to anything too fancy. Also what is the best dive shop to use? Thanks, Alan

Alan..Asking a question like "what's the best dive shop" is like saying what's the best camera? Minolta? Pentax? Canon? Nikon? etc
They're all high quality due to the intense competition. It's a matter of preference.
And by the way, welcome to BT!
And yes, of course I have a preference. ;)

Alan,
Since this is a guy trip, try the Black Durgon.
you'll be right on the water, it's very reasonably priced and the Small Wall is just two minutes off the pier.--oh and a breakfast is included every morning except Sunday.--It's my favorite.

Alan, would try either Divi Flamingo or Buddy's. Think you would be happy at either one. Easy diving off either one.

Bill,
I am with you but like Brenda said this is a can of worms. many great choices. suggest you look and then ask about specific places you have an interest in. otherwise the answer is all of them :-)

Alan,
A tool that might help you make a decision is google images or YouTube.
In spite of everything I can't think of a better value, especially for guys, that beats the Black Durgon.
Clean rooms, community kitchen and on the water.
Last time there our family had the best time. My DIL loves to cook and we sat on the water eating at 10 pm. Then it was cards until 3.
