Ok, first my condolences to the naturalist on board...with that said, am really interested in booking next year with sorobon..really enjoyed playing around in the bay a few years back while attempting to kill myself on a windsurf board..thought about how neat it would be to stay at sorobon with the white sand and bay out in front...looks like a week of beautiful seclusion...need info from the naturlist on accomodations..plus and minus please..also looks as though they are teaming with wanna dive..info their to please thanks ahead of time...

New owners. New policies. Completely different experience. No one knows what a textile stay will be like. You will just have to take one for the team.

Agree--so much has changed in terms of the accomodations, management, etc, that my previous 5 stays will not be representative of the present experience. I am angry and frustrated by the recent changes, but must admit in all fairness that I have never stayed in a more beautiful place. The scenery and seclusion are unrivalled. It WAS the perfect place for naturists!

Thanks Keith...that was what I was hoping to hear. Will be taking a closer look in about 5 weeks, but I'm really thinking next year it will warrant a strong consideration, although it will be hard to leave Belmar

have also stayed at Belmar 3 times, when accompanying guests were not comfortable with naturism--and loved it...

We enjoyed our last week there the end of October, and I keep trying to finds a way to go back to Bonaire now that Sorobon is closing for "us".

Reni, I think they plan on catering to the naturalist during the fall months...you may not be out of luck yet

I think they are compressing the naturist period to 27days...Considering demand and the resulting pricing as well as my scheduling that may mean Sorobon is out of the picture.

We will go to a resort that we are always welcome. This place is dead to us.

Jibe City has changed the angle of their webcam. It's now possible to see what's left of the wall between Jibe City and Sorobon:

Seems like it was only temporary, angle is back to normal. No wall to be seen...

We stayed at the Sorobon from Nov 13-20, 2010. We have stayed at the Sorobon once or twice a year for at least 10 years. We were so disappointed this week that we will never stay at the Sorobon again. 3 of our friends were so unhappy with the service they left early. The grass was not mowed and the weeds were tall (this resort was always well-maintained in the past); there wasn't any hot water in our units until the afternoon (always had plenty of hot water before); our ac was temperamental and in 2 of the other units where our friends were staying, it did not work at all (even after they reported it, no one came to service it; the previous management always responded quickly to problems); there weren't enough fans for all of the units to have even one (previously our double unit had 3 fans, one per bedroom and one in the living area); and clean beach towels were a daily issue (they were simply not delivered from the supplier in town - this was never an issue in the past when the laundering was done at the resort). And if that wasn't enough, when I went to pay the bill at the end of the week, much to my surprise since it was never mentioned, a management directed surcharge had been added to our bill.

The place had always been expensive. But when we checked out in April 09, I discovered a big "service charge" added to the bill, and that was after I'd already put a hefty tip in the tip box on the reception desk. Apparently, it was a "new thing". That's when I decided the place was simply too expensive, and vowed never to return. Maybe it wouldn't have been so unwelcome if the service standard hadn't been so amateurish.

How sad!! I hope that the new owners take a look at this website. I have been a loyal customer for the past 10 years, but I assure you that I will definitely not be returning unless they return to the old business model of exemplary service. I wonder how the bookings are?
