Greetings all
I am a newbie here but have read all the recent threads in accommodations. We are visiting over Christmas and I have been looking at just about everything available.
One possible stand out for the "private villa" option is "Flamingo Beach" rented through SunRentals.
Anyone ever stayed at this property or have experience with the rental agency.

Thanks
Chris

yes we have , its really great for a couple, there is a second apartment but its located down a set of steps and under the pool, not bad but the house accomadations are nice, you are in what I would figure the servant area would be and its perfect , the pool is amazing and the house and grounds are very very nice

Thanks for the info Ron, unfortunately I heard back from the agency and this property is already rented. Do you have any suggestions for a family of four (couple and two adult kids? ) I have been weighing options between private villas, beach condos (ie Sand dollar) and resorts

I thank you also Ron. My wife and are planning a January visit to this property....hopefully. I have not contacted Sunrentals yet. It looks to be a perfect villa for a couple of middle age divers looking for peace and quiet.

Chris, while not a villa, my wife and I love Belmar..it's on the southern end of thing and all of the rooms are ocean front (which is why we swapped to Belmar) might take a look at them..our experiences have been cpt dons, sand dollar and buddy's also..not a bad one in the bunch in my book but Belmar is our favorite...what a way to spend a Christmas holiday...you know Santa spends the rest of the winter there

If you're still looking for a Villa, you might want to consider Casa Blue Note, also with Sun Rentals. We stayed there and at Flamingo Beach last winter. Although Flamingo Beach appears to be very luxurious, Casa Blue Note beats it hands down. The pool is nice at Flamingo Beach, but the beach area is quite a hike from the house (a lot of lugging with dive equipment). The apartment is on the side of the house and does not have a view of the water or get a sea breeze. Also between the gardener, house-keeper and pool man, there is always someone coming and going on the property. Regardless, Sun Rental were great to deal with.

Again thanks for the continued input, I am still working on a decision. Monty, I looked at the Belmar, I don't see any kind of beachy area ( I know that anything in Bonaire that is a beach is nothing more than a sandy area.
Rudy Thanks for recommending Casa Bluenote; I like the looks of it, but it does not have a pool, which so far is a requirement by the non divers in my family...any thoughts on that?

Chris..you are absolutely right about that..as a matter of fact, if I had non diving members in my party, I would probably choose another spot also, probably closer to town

Thanks Monty..I was going along that same line of thinking..I will be there with my wife and two college age daughters, one of whom we are meeting there as she is doing a research project at CIEE. The non diving daughter would likely be more entertained by being able to walk easily around town and have pool to hang by...although I expect she will also to a fair amount of snorkling.
I see you mentioned Capt Don's, Sanddollar & Buddy Dive. I have looked at Eden Beach, though I hear the downside is the cruise ships. Maybe I am trying to put too much together, but here is the list..full living space with kitchen that would be a comfortable place to hang out; beach space, pool, walking distance to town, oceanside with water access near. Balance between the full resort feel and a private home. Not too much to ask...:-)ha...whats your take on balancing all that? Thanks Chris

Hey Chris, Regarding the lack of pool at Casa Blue Note, you've got the biggest pool in the world, the Ocean! Probably not suitable for little ones, but if your kids are older, they would love it. The pier is great for suntanning. The swimming and snorkeling off the pier are amazing and you're right next to Wanna Dive, so you just pop next door for tanks. Also only 10 minutes to beautiful Lac Bay which is really the only true sand beach on the island.

We have no experience with the larger resorts, but I think many of them have what you're looking for in terms of a little bit of everything.
