I just returned from Bonaire and stayed at the Lighthouse Beach Resort. The cost for a 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath townhouse completely furnished for 4 people was $932 for a week. Compared to the hotels, I think this was pretty reasonable. The unit I stayed in was clean, modern and nicely furnished. The company that handles this rental property also has some singles. International Business Services (1-800-835-1709). They also have an office on the island. Hope this helps.

My understanding is that only a few of the units at Lighthouse Beach is rental property. They are maintained by International Business Service.

that is not at all true....many are owned by individuals and a group of four units on the pool are owned by a couple from florida. I dont know the percentages, but I would wager less than 50% are owner occupied...e mail me if you are interested on the ones on the pool and I will put you in touch with the owners.

I will be coming to Capt. Don's Habitat in March 2000 for a week. What is the status of the reef and of the docks and other dive-related areas?

Just got back from a week at Capt Don's. Reef is in good shape. Not great for the snorklers (they said) No docks left after Lenny. All resorts have steps or ladders to enter water. Cpt Don's has wooden steps. Their boats are at the marina and they ferry you down there from the resort. Good nite diving right out front instead of the hassel of the 'town pier' which was awful! Really dirty.. Too many people, no great fish...lots of eels and that's all. Why pay a guide when you can dive right out front... Have fun

It is SunRentals Bonaire and is located just down the side street from Sunbelt. The web site is http://www.sunrentals.an/. SunRentals is owned by the same people as Lagoen Hill Bungalows. SunBelt Realty sold out their rental department to SunRentals. Chumy is now working for SunRentals as well.

Just got back from four weeks on Bonaire (will do trip report soon), but wanted to share our WONDERFUL experience with Bonaire Town Homes. New, just a couple of units, on the outskirts of town (we walked in in the evening). Beautifully clean, breezy (never used the air conditioner), and very quiet and private. The owner, Benny, is just great, and was a life-saver when I arrived with a back injury, got me to a physiotherapist, made calls, etc. He and his wife made us feel very welcome, and were always there to answer questions, make recommendations (and he even changed our tire for us when we had a flat!)
