The time is almost here for my long-awaited trip to Bonaire! :-) I'll be staying in a villa at the Divi Resort and I was wondering if someone could tell me if there are safes in the villas.
I know all about not leaving anything in our rental truck and to leave the windows rolled down with the truck unlocked, but how worried do I need to be about leaving valuables in my villa?
Any tips or suggestions you could offer would truly be appreciated!

No idea about the Villa's but the regular and deluxe rooms have safes in them - ask for a safe key when you check in - they charge $6.50 and take a $50 deposit for them. Have a great time!

http://www.diviflamingo.com/DiviFlamingo/bonaire-guest-accomodations.html does not include Villas. Do I have the wrong Divi resort?

Roybn are talking about the timeshare rooms. Yes, safes in room. We have never had problems at the divi. I leave my laptop etc, but you never know!!!!

Robyn, I think the rooms are the studio rooms. They are located near the pool and the dive shop!

Whoops, I should have said 'studio' and not villa.

Thanks for your input everyone. I really appreciate it!

There are safes in the rooms and I believe the older rooms may have the older type safes, so you would have to ask for a key/lock. I would say about 50% (as of March) of the rooms have an updated safe where you use a code. We also bring a Kensington lock for our laptop. Honestly, the maids are great and I doubt they would steal anything but it's always good to lock up your valuables/laptop no matter where you go:-)
