We are a family of four and interested in renting Beaurang Residence at the end of March 2010. If anyone has rented Beaurang we have questions on the beach and snorkeling near the villa. We have two children (9 and 14) and would like to be able to snorkel directly off the beach? Also does the beach or area get crowded when a cruise ship docks? Thanks, Ken

Beaurang Residence does not have a sand beach as such. There is a low wall at waters edge with a strip of sand on the high side and ironstone on the water side. Snorkeling is good in the shallows. Know that you will want hard soled booties most anywhere you go into the water in Bonaire. Our group has stayed at Beaurang for the last four years. Email me if you have questions.

We stayed at Beaurang a few months ago, and are heading back to Boniare in two weeks, this time we are staying at different rental....you could snorkle fairly easily from Richards Dock (next door) providing you ask Richard when you arrive, as he is the best guy around I really wouldn't imagine him saying no....If you are interested in info about the house, feel free to email me as well!

I should have noted that you will have the water entry all to your own, with no boat people having access through the Beaurang property. Brenton is also correct as to Richard. Introduce yourself, ask, and the dock is probably yours to use. It has a ladder for easier entry/exit.
edit: it had a ladder last May before Omar. The dock has been totally rebuilt and I do not know if the ladder has been replaced.

Dock does now have a ladder again.
