This may be a bit "geekish", but I do work in IT. For those interested, Buddy Dive offers 120 mins of Internet time for around $8, or unlimited for 1 week for $40. The speed is advertised as "Caribbean speed." lol. An internet speed test revealed about 105k download speed...slow compared to what we are typically used to..but fast enough to check web mail, facebook, and even chat some.

I was in building 200 -- could see the AP but it would not give me an IP address. The best reception was in the breakfast dining area. I would usually run across someone else in the dining area at night also checking email, Facebook, etc.

Hope this helps those wondering about their Internet access.

Check out Michael at Chat and Browse. He hooked us up with an air card that works great, very comparable prices and it will work in your room. I'm just sayin'.

I'm posting this from our room in the 700 building right now. Used it in the breakfast room early this morning, and didnt have any problems. Tried using it on the small beach area next to the dive shop this afternoon, and it was spotty at best. It's certainly not what I'm used to at home, but it'll do the trick while I'm here.

Don,
I am envious and sad that Gale and I are not there to join you this year. Hope you guys have a great time, that the resident seahorse is still there and that all tropical depressions avoid Bonaire this year. Please give my regards to Augusto, Murph, Fredlyn, Lourdes and the rest of the gang (is Sandra still there?). And tell Magda the omelet lady that I am only "basta bon" since I am not there. Have a great time.

Scott,
We wish you and Gale were here too. It just wasn't the same at breakfast today without hearing some of your stories.Although we haven't spotted him yet, we have heard that there is a seahorse at 45fsw just south of the dock here. I'm going to assume it's the same one as before.Jess and I won't rest till we see him. I have already given your greetings to Magda, and the look on her face was priceless. She got a HUGE smile on her face, and laughed so loudly when I told her that I was supposed to give her a hug from you. Hope that weather up there isnt getting you guys down, and I almost feel bad telling you how beautiful it is here. I still have to give your greetings to everyone else on your list.....but dont worry...I will. Hope to see you both here again in the future.
