This may be a bit odd question, so bear with me, please. While back during our trip to St. John we stayed at a small secluded bungalow overlooking ocean with its own kitchen, shower and toilet, easy access to secluded beach. Simply put we had the beach to ourselves lots of times, no noisy neighbours as this was a bit far from the town.

Hi, Welcome to Bonaire. I can't say anything is like that here anymore. Big construction all over island. Best you could do is up north in the hills maybe, but there are other houses, just spread apart more. Best of luck in finding your vacation place.

There was a blue house on south side that used to fit the bill, but construction workers working on 4 homes next to it all the time presently.

i agree with debbie, there won't be a lot of choices on bonaire that would fit your needs. too much construction now. the blue house south of esmerelda might be the best you'll be able to find but, like she said, there is construction going on just a few feet to the north....there isn't much in the way of a sandy beach there and the front door is only about 20 feet from the road.

If quiet, sandy beach is on your list, look at Harbour Village Beach Club.

Bonaire is not the island of vast sandy beaches. Lots of places that overlook the water and that have a full kitchen.

Actually thinking about this, your best bet may be Sorobon (www.sorobonbeachresort.com). Secluded you want, secluded you get, there.

Kontiki is pretty secluded, on the opposite side of the island from where all the tourists stay. They may even have a free-standing bungalow there. Try searching for their website on Google. There's also a small beach across the street but maybe not such good swimming. It's not far, however, from Lac Bay with beach, windsurfing and good snorkeling farther out near the reef.

I was going to suggest KonTiki also. They have studios, apartments, and a couple of homes they manage. They are away from town and its very quiet and peaceful there. They have great food too!

I was surfing the web, wishing I was in Bonaire, and found this unique place - Rancho San Minguel. It doesn't overlook the ocean, but sounds like it might be what you are looking for. Here is the link: http://www.outdoorbonaire.com/eco-accommodation.html
