Very helpful posts re:accommodations!! I've narrowed down our search to Den Laman, Bellafonte and Coral Paradise (Belmar was booked). What do you think? Or are there others? My husband and I are divers, 1st time to Bonaire, getting the truck rental, would like a kitchen, I'd like a freshwater pool but not critical if oceanfront, ocean views, restaurants and/or bar closeby would be nice. I like a comfortable bed and a little nicer than bare bones dive motel. Friendly staff is a plus, and convenient to dive logistics (tanks, storage, rentals). Your experienced comments please!

Of your choices I have only stayed at Den Laman.

My grades on Den Laman

Lodging facilities 9 of 10
Lodging staff 8 of 10
Dive facilities 6 of 10
Dive staff 2 of 10
Diving in front of Den Laman 12 of 10

I would return!

We love Den Laman, but there is no pool. Otherwise it fits what you're seeking.

Thanks for the help! One question about Bellafonte, is the Wannadive Windsock facility closeby? How is Wannadive for their dive package? Can't wait for the trip. It's snowing here in Idaho....

My vote is for Captn or Coral Paradise. With Coral rental is with car and its a newer property. You dive with Captn Don's you will love Lutty & Wilco.

I'll second Freddie's choice of Capt Don's Oasis cottages! Will be there for my third visit in June. Our group(19 this year)gathers in the evenings with a Bright, looking at the days pictures, poring over the Fish ID books that I bring, filling out log books, etc.

Thanks everyone! We've booked Bellafonte and I'm sooo excited! We will definitely check out all of the other accommodations recommended to prep for our next trip! I wanted to mention, we're using Delta Sky Miles, and we're only using 57,500 miles each ~ and that's coach on the way over and 1st class on the way home. Initiating in SLC. It was going to be 90,000 to Miami for Keys diving or 60,000 to Cancun, and then having to still get to Coz. This is going to be amazing...

Wow, that's an amazing deal with Delta Sky Miles! Continental always seems to be 70,000 miles roundtrip and that's in coach. Enjoy your trip!
