Sharon and I will be making our 4th visit to Sorobon Beach Resort August 10 - 25. We enjoy reading this newsgroup regularly, although are only occasional contributors.

It's probably unlikely, but will any of you be at Sorobon during this time?

Sharon and Kevin

Hi Kevin,
We will be staying at the Divi. Don't think I could do the Sorobon thing. LOL.
Do they let visitors in or do you have to be staying there?
Ida

Sharon and Kevin,
We're going back to Sorobon in October (2nd time for us) for our pre-honeymoon. What a nice place!!! What's the weather like in August? If Carolein is still working there at the desk, will you say hi to her from Jamie and Renee? Have a wonderful time.

Ida--you don't have to be staying there but can use the beach and facilities for (I think) $15US/day. The beach and snorkelling (out by the reef) are perhaps the best on the island. And nothing beats the relaxation of truly "hangin out"! Highly recommended! Just bring the sunscreen :)

Ida- Just about everyone is the same way about trying a "naturist" experience. Sharon and I both have stressful jobs (who doesn't???) and we have found Sorobon to be one of the most relaxing vacations. Maybe you don't want to cut into your diving time, but you and Tim would be welcome to visit Sorobon as our guests. As first time visitors, I think you could wear bathing suits if that made you feel more comfortable.

Jamie- Glad to hear from someone who likes Sorobon. Not sure about August weather. We've been there twice in July and once in September. Maybe a little hot but we think with the breeze probably fine. Carolein is still there, and we'll say hi for you and Renee. We'll try to remember to send you an update or post a trip report when after our trip.

Snorkeling the reef at Sorobon requires a 15-20 minute walk across the shallow bay but it is well worth it. :-)

(Hi, first time I've read the day's posts in a long time... unbelievably busy...)

Hi, Niki! Good to see you again!! Hope the fires in Oregon are not near you at all. We have never snorkeled at Sorobon. Joe and I will have to try it next trip...maybe we can meet you and Bob (or is it Joe? LOL) over there one day. I will keep my suit on, tho...don't want to scare away the fishies and marine life! LOL. Good to see you back on the board...try to come home more often, OK? Hugs to Bob and Teresa and Chris, too. Carole

Hi Carole,

The fires are not near me, but near many towns I know. Smoky air has been a problem too.

I personally don't go snorkeling naked, due to sun exposure, and abrasion dangers, and my habit of getting cold. I wear my wetsuit, so you will not be out of synch at all. We will definitely do it next time!
