HI, BTers!! Anyone ever stay at Caribbean Club? I know what I have read on their web site and I know precisely where it is, but a keyword search wasn't much help. Just wondering if there is anything I need to know about.......

We loved the Caribbean Club. It is inexpensive and off the beaten path. It is a short walk down to Oil Slick leap--one of my favorite dives. The folks running it are very nice. Very nicely setup for divers as well.

I concur , great rustic place off the beaten track. Great food. The staff will give you the shirts off their backs if they thought you would feel better. Oil Slick is a world class house reef , what more could you ask for?

CC can be a nice, laid back place to stay, on the edge of the kunuku, walking distance to Oil Slick, many birds & lizards, etc. A lot depends on which cottage you get to stay in though, and if the building activities have finished. Try to avoid the cottages near the restaurant and on the east side of the pool, they ar noisier and dark. Also, there are larger and smaller ones. The restaurant is cheap, but nothing special.

Thanks. I think it will be fine. I like Oil Slick. Glad to hear it has a nice set up for divers. I don't need to be right in town. anyone else have any input?

i loved the Carribean Club. it was very quiet, very relaxing , very much on island time.the drinks at the bar were some of the best on the island, the food was good, but breakfast usually never started much before 8 am....this was in August 07 and I think it was under new management. watch your air tanks and be sure to pressure test everything as we found many tanks with 1000 psi of nitrox. i know they were building a tank room off the diveshop so maybe that has improved the tanks selection. oil slick to far of a walk with SCUBA gear, so don't expect that to be a regular walk for a morning dive. It is fantastic to be that close though, so you can dive early and late after all the other divers have settled in. the other great thing, was we got a Buddy's air card to use the drive through @ Buddy's resort and never were short on tanks or air. I definately look forward to going back for a relaxing stay at CC

This is a work in progress. First trip to Bonaire for Kym and I and we would probably stay there again but keep your expectations in line. Breakfast was an adventure, OK food and very friendly service but the cook was often confused by our orders. Eggs over easy not possible but we loved the coffee. Our room was adequate, (is that a pillow?), towels every other day, sheets on Wednesday, AC worked fine and plenty of hot water.
As I said, a work in progress...could be a little neater, we swept our own patio with the left behind broom. And a thousand thanks to the security guard who helped me find toilet paper at 11 PM!
Do not walk to Oil Slick Leap... the walk back would make 1000 steps look like a walk in the park.
Kudos to Jooep and Walter... they are making the best of a situation that will no doubt improve with time and my warmest thanks to Adrianna and Munsey (sp?) and the bar crew that struggled so hard to come up with an ice cold martini. Is the ice warmer so close to the equator?
Anyway, after all is said and done, we will cherish the memories of our first trip to Bonaire, the great people we met, the fabulous diving, and The Caribbean Club warts and all.

Love the fishies ,Cory!

I think CC will be Ok for me. I love Den Laman with its all stainless appliances and flatscreen tv, but looks like this will be a different kind of place. I don't care, I'll be underwater most of the time. good to know there is ac and hot water.

Should I bring my own tp??? Are drinks pricey (rum and coke)
Anyone out there that will be there March 18 through 26? Anyone else have any input?

As a follow up and in case anyone ever reads this thread in the future, I had a very nice stay at the CC. I loved the privacy of staying a bit off the usual path, and yet everything is still accessible. I met Cory ( who posted earlier on this thread)and his wife Kathy . We had a blast. I would stay again at CC.
