Just got back from a week at Bonaire Oceanfront Apartments. This is the fourth time I've been there in the 8 times I've been to Bonaire (so far!). Sorry to say that it is really going downhill. The location is great, right north of town, 1 block away from Its Raining Fishes and across the street from the water, but the place is not being maintained properly.

When I got there on Sunday afternoon my keys that were given to me by the maid did not work on my door or patio gate. She gave me another door key but the gate key to my patio door did not work so I could go out to the patio from inside myunit. When I got into my unit, my toilet was running. I love and appreciate Bonaire environment and try to conserve resources so in addition to the annoying noise, I was upset about the waste of water. There was no one working in the office that day (should be someone since guests were arriving!!!!) so I went to the office first thing Monday morning. Josie is no longer there. The woman in the office was new, a trainee, and she said "Oh is it still running?" Took till Thursday till someone showed up and Friday afternoon it was finally fixed.

Wish I could say that this was the only problem, but there is no maintenance person on the premises to handle problems. The gate locks are not working properly and this has led to people leaving the gates open. A woman in another unit had her dive gear stolen from her patio.

The units are older and need upkeep which is not being done. People are taking up two parking spaces (there are 13 units and 8 spaces) and no one is telling them to park correctly.

Bert no longer works in the dive shop, he now owns the Dive Inn and is still the same friendly great guy he always was.

All in all, sorry to say that this is the last time I will stay there.

Sounds like SunRentals. We rented through that office in January and were surprised how bad the experience was compared to 2004. They really need Josie--she knew what she was doing and got things done. And she'd give you a straight answer. We won't be using them again, either.

If people are new, maybe give them a chance?

The only problem with given people a chance is that it is your vacations. If a newbie's problem affects your vacation how do you get the time and experience back?

TDK, The squeak get the oil! If I had the problems that Susan had, I would complain to the management! If I didn't get immeadiate responce, I would call the numbers I have for Sun Rentals and complain again! I would continue my complaining until the problem was solved! That is the other side of the coin to giving them a chance!!! What do you want? BLOOD!!!

Not sure what you are getting at Ron. What do you want? Blood. could you explain?
All I was saying is if a company has a newbie and it affects your vacation that you paid for and work for, why give them a break. Giving them a break to me is you let the problem go and don't worry about it. Being squeeky to get the oil does not sound like giving them a break. I think we are on the same page but please let me know.

I did notice that things were a little more organized when Josie was there. On the other hand, when we checked in on Sunday morning, the office was closed but Dennis came right down to get a cot for my son. In a perfect world the cot would have been there for us upon arrival but they did handle it.
