Has anybody stayed at LHBR recently? Can you snorkel right off the beach there? How rough is the water? Thanks!

My wife and I stayed in Debbie & Gregg Babcock's place, #13, this past October and we are booked there again this fall.

You can snorkel (and dive) right off the beach. Very easy access on the north end, and Debbie says the south end has even easier access.

The water is normally quite calm as long as the winds are in their usual direction (from the east). If there is a wind reversal, the water will be rougher. Easy enough to determine before you even go in. Also like most of the leeward side of Bonaire, there can be a current running in either direction, and at times it can be strong. Pay attention, and if there is a current, just snorkel into it at first so you will be taken back to your entry point at the end of the snorkel (just like you would do if you were diving).
