Hello, I will be at captain don's next week. I stayed there last year and thought it was great. I was wondering however if there were any improvments to the wifi signal there.
that was the one disappointment last year. Signal last year was never better than poor and connection was unreliable at my room, by the pool where they advertise that I will get signal.

is the signal any stronger? Is it more reliable? Is it still $40 a week (ouch) or have they raised the rate (yikes)?

got my fingers crossed for no delays on Wednesday (one week from) as I have three flights to catch to get there!!

We were there in October and they were waiting for a new system to be installed. We are back in 5 weeks time and I hope the new system is in. We usually stay in a Junior Deluxe Suite by the pool and could get online from our room.

I was there in Dec it worked fine I had no charges for wifi - it didnt work from inside the villa suites I stayed in Villa 7 - but worked great outside on patio/deck from there. I did have a day or two that It would hook into Buddy Dives wi-fi that required a password when I was up at the bar or at breakfast - just reset/repair and generally went to Captn Don's access.

FREE WIFI at captain Don's???? that would be great I hope that is the case i guess i could email them. That would make up for the over 3x increase in underwater camera rental rates

Captn Don's dont run the photo shop, its run by outside company - they are actually very nice to work with - they just opened there during our trip a bit of opening issues but o.k. in the end. If you dont want to bring your computer - take a short walk down to Michael's Chat n' Browse he can download yr pics emails etc..

I realize that CD's doesn't run the photo anymore. I was just pointing out that last year a DS8000 with strobe cost me $30 for the day. No the same rig cost $95. I wish CD's did still run the photo shop.

Any word on the WIFI? Did Capt. Don's get the new system installed? Is it now free?

I am now at Captain Don's they have a new wifi service called surf it. At my room over by buddy dive the signal is poor but the conection is steady. Working great for my needs here much better than last year. A big thumbs up to CD's for this improvement. I haven't tried it outside the room.
