I need to know the status of repair at Sand Dollar

Is the dive shop back in its location

What's the status of The Green Parrot opening back up in its water side location?

The dive shop is operating next door and offering all its original services (see today's Bonaire e new for full details) The Green parrot is serving light lunches from the Pool Bar and also having happy hour daily. There is no definite word as yet as to when they will have a rebuilt locaton. They are all doing a great job under adverse conditions...

I have a March 2000 trip planned. Last time in Bonaire - again due to storm surge damage - the Green Parrot was not open - still there however. Does anyone know the current status of the rebuilding of the restaurant/dive operation? Any current photos? Is was great to have the restaurant so convenient. Is diving still allowed from that former pier area? Thanks.

Just returned from 2 weeks at the Sand Dollar. Before I left I had heard that a light lunch and happy hour were being served daily at the pool area. This is not so. There is no food or bar at the condo at all. Den Laman next door is serving lunch and dinner. If you want breakfast, you'll have to go to Buddy's or Habitat.

The entire pier complex looks like it took a direct hit from a cruise missle. All that's left is rubble. A new semi-sand beach has formed to the right of what used to be the dive pier and most of the shore diving is being done from there.

A new dive shop is being built in the parking lot of Den Laman and boat diving is being done from the marina at Harbor Village

Thanks Ralph, that's a pretty straightforward report of the situation.
