Hello all,
I've got my husband ALMOST convinced that he should take me to Bonaire for my birthday (6/14). Through our travel agent (Island Express) we found a great deal, but I have a couple of concerns I thought you experienced fellow PBD people could help me with:

*anyone ever travel from Wed to Wed? Any drawbacks from traveling Sat to Sat (aside from having work on Thurs)? Its certainly cheaper... I'm concerned about taking Air Jamaica AND about any potential impact on our diving.

* We're looking to travel 6/12 -6/19, when the Dive festival is going on, is that good or bad?

* This will be my second diving experience, so I'll definitely need a refresher class. I should be able to get that at Toucan diving, right?

Ana, last year we flew Air Jamaica, Wednesday to Wednesday, had no problems. We arrived home after midnight but we had already taken the rest of the week off.
We dove with Toucan and they are great. I'm sure they will help you with a refresher course.
We are returning June 24- Air Jamaica and staying at the Plaza using Toucan Divers.

If you fly Air Jamaica you will not have to worry about getting to the airport 4:00 A.M..

The Wednesday to Wednesday time will cost you an extra day of vacation (if that is an issue). Wed to Wed is 6 days...Sat to Sat is 5 days

Dive Festival is not that busy so you will not be impacted by long waits, etc at restaurants, etc. It is a great experience for folks who want to participate. You can pick your functions al la carte. The taste of Bonaire is not to be missed.!
