Never stayed there but I have been on the grounds several times and have taken a tour of the rooms. The rooms are nice, the grounds are well kept and the restuarant on site is very good. Watch out for Kirk, he WILL charm you into desert! I have heard nothing but good about the dive operation. We stay at Buddy which is next door, the dive docks actually join together. I am sure you will enjoy the stay. I assume you have seen their web site. http://www.lionsdivebonaire.com/index.shtml

Lions Den is nice....we looked at the rooms and the ammenities seemed good....I think upstairs units are better....the pool is small but if your mom is watching the kids...it may be too her benifit...there is an area to enter the ocean from the resort also...the restauraunt is top notch....and you are a stones throw from alot of other eating establishments. Plus just down the road apiece from the "famous" Richter family Cams!

Just returned from 5 weeks at Lions and loved every minute of it. It was our 8th. trip to Bonaire and about the 4th. time we have stayed at Lions. We had a large one bedroom on the ground floor, and that worked great with hauling dive gear in and out. Some of the one bedroom units are very small. You didn't say what size unit you have, but all the two bedrooms are upstairs. If you are staying in a one bedroom, they will charge you extra for use of the sofa bed. I don't think the pool is that small. One part of the pool is just a foot deep, so it would be a good spot for grandma and the baby to cool off. Take lots of bug repellent for evenings. Sometimes the bugs aren't bad, but then a little rain falls and there they are, so better to be prepared.

Lobster night is Tuesday, if I remember it correctly. Kirk tries to have several specials each week. If you are staying at Lions, just watch the menu boards. He posts his dinner specials in the morning. And speaking of morning, the breakfasts that are included in the Lions dive packages are fantastic. There are several choices off a menu rather than the usual buffets offered at other resorts.

You will love it there. We're going back for our 3rd time this November. Quiet, family oriented, and the pool isn't that small-just hotel sized. The shallow part will be perfect for your little one.
