I plan to travel to Bonaire this summer (June/July/Aug) with my wife and three children. I want to stay at a nice resort (pool, decent beach, nice rooms) and want to continue to develop my children's interest in the water. My wife requires a much nicer place than I do and that is okay.

My expectations are good and friendly management; nice and clean accommodations and activities for the kids. I use to go to Belize when I was a child (many years ago) and developed a love of the water, snorkeling and eventually diving. I want this for my kids.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome James, I am sure that you will be hearing from a few people very shortly.. you might want to check out www.infobonaire.com first though and also you might do a search through the accommodations threads or through the trip report threads for some more information..

Try the Plaza Resort, your wife will be very happy there and the kids will like the beach and water entries there. They also have a kids program you can sign up the kids for there and snorkeling right off the beach. Nice lounge chairs on the beach and they also have a pool, restaurants, small casino and a few gift shops, beach volleyball on the beach too. Very spacious.

James - just be aware that Plaza's villas (the 2 bedroom units) are not on the water. It's a long walk to anything except the restaurant & casino.
