I have booked a trip to Bonaire in Feb. for two weeks, with some friends(approx. four of us) from a windsurfing club in Vancouver, British Columbia. None of us have been to Bonaire before & we are already counting the days. We are looking for nice, quiet, low cost accommodation close to the gear rental places - walking distance ideally. Some kitchen facilities would be great too. We dream of windsurfing all day & relaxing (in a hammock?) in a beautiful spot when we're not on the water. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good place to stay for Windsurfers? Thank you.

Welcome to BT. Always nice to see another windsurfer coming to Bonaire. You may consider renting a place on the other side of the island. We have been windsurfing there for the past 12 years and have always stayed on the west side and rented a car. Other than the Sorbon, there is really nothing within close walking distance. Most of the activity and places to eat are on the west side.

We stay at sorobon beach resort. It is two steps from jibe city. The windsurf place on Lac Bay. All the rooms have a small kitchen and they also have a restaurant. The people there are great and can help with a rental car. Oh and by the way each house does come with a hammock that looks out over the water. Great for afternoon sleeping. Enjoy your stay.
