I have stayed at BelMar before but air only works in bedroom when you are in the bedroom

I am looking for nice lodging that has central air throught out the place.

Please help.

Welcome to BT David.

I believe air conditioning in the bedroom is the exception not the rule. Most places have central air. I know Eden Beach and the Plaza do and I am pretty sure that all the major resorts do also, eg Divi, Sanddollar, Buddy Dive, Captain Dons etc.

David, welcome to Bonaire Talk. Den Lamen (brand new next to Sand Dollar) has AC throughout. I think there are a couple of Villas that have AC throughout but don't remember which ones. I also remember hearing that some of the Lion's Den rooms had been refurbished and had AC throughout, and they are now part of Buddy's. You may want to contact Buddy's to find out.

A lot of the smaller resorts/condos have AC in the bedrooms only. Electricity on island is expensive so to cut cost for you and them the AC is not used through out the condo.
Being a desert island with lots of wind as long as you are in a shade it is cool. While in the condo open oppisite doors/windows and let the breeze through, if you do that then when you are at the dive sites getting in/out you won't feel the heat as much.
Personally I love the breezes and only use the AC in the bedroom at night because when we go to bed we lock up the condo for safety reasons.
Enjoy your trip to Bonaire, you won't find any better place to dive or nicer people.
Andy

I second Andy's comment. If you just allow your body to get used to the higher temperatures and take it slow & easy, and you'll be more relaxed as an added bonus. And if you manage to find a room with barred windows, you won't even have to switch the AC on at night, as you can leave your windows open and enjoy the cool nightly trade winds. If all Bonaire visitors did this, a lot of energy is saved, which will benefit the environment and as a consequence we will all be able to enjoy the natural wonders of Bonaire a little longer.
