We're booked at the Divi in a Deluxe Oceanfront. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on whether the ground level or second floor is better. Do you still have a nice view with the ground level? We have kids so I'm leaning toward the lower level for convenience.

Also, any thoughts on which end of the building is closer to the beach/pier. Less walking with kids is definately better. Do you think the Divi will honor a request for certain rooms? I guess I can always try.

Thanks for the help.

The steps are no big thing in the delux rooms. The 2nd floor is maybe 6-7 steps up, the lower is a gradual slope down. Both have balconies and are across from the pool. They are situated in a group together and there aren't that many where I would say one is closer then the other to things. I think they compromise 2 building groups. Stayed in them a long time ago. They are newly renovated, as most of the divi is now.May be the lower ones without stairs for the children would be better, but I don't feel much of a difference.

As for requesting a certain room, ask, cann't hurt to try. The staff is very friendly and usually try to accomodate their guest if at all possible.

There are four or five stairs to go to the 2nd floor as well as four or five stairs to go to the ground level. My preference is the second floor. I think either would be fine with kids.

Hi Susan. We have stayed in both the upstairs, and downstairs. We liked them both. When you are looing out on that beautiful tranquility, what's there not to like. We have always emailed them about 3 or 4 weeks before arrival. Room 206 or 207 is really good. In fact, I'll be emailing them in about 3 weeks, as we will be arriving on June 16th.

Had to add my two cents, haven't posted for while! I stayed in the deluxe oceanfront on lower level. I prefer it because you are right on the rocks, and can sit on the balcony and watch the crabs playing on the rocks. Doesn't take much to entertain me though!

Thanks for your help. I'm staring to think that no matter where we stay, we're going to have a great time on this trip. The Divi sounds wonderful though.

I can't imagine a bad time on Bonaire no matter where you stay...if you are at Flamingo, you will have the best all around accomodations

Where do you email the Flamingo - I tried to email from their web page and didn't receive a reply.

Robin,

Divi does not publish the email address to their resorts. You have to fax to the resort (Flamingo). The email address at their web site goes to their booking office in North Carolina...Don't hold your breath for a reply.

I own a timeshare at Divi

Actually, Divi here on Bonaire will accept and usually respond to mail sent to divibon@bonairelive.com

Hello,

We were in Bonaire for the first time in March
and fell in love with the dive freedom. So, we're trying to get back in late July or August.
We stayed at the Plaza last time but if we get there again this year we will have to stay at a cheaper place. What about Divi's standard rooms?
Are they ok? We are diving most of the time any way. Can you get a fridge in a standard room?

Thanks!
Dave
