Does anyone know how the Full American Plan at the Divi Flamingo works. I understnd that it includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. Does it include soft drinks at meal time? We assume so but you never know.

Since I have a time-share there, I can't fully comment on the meal plans. But I believe that non-alcoholic drinks are usually included in meal plans. I have always been pleased with the food in the restaurants. There is a small shop on site that sells snacks and the Cultimara and Warehouse markets sell snack items. They have an ice machine (free) near the Chibi-Chibi that you can use to keep drinks cold in your room.

I have never gotten the meal plan because there are too many good restaurants in Bonaire so I can't answer your questions regarding what they include. The food, however, is very good at the Divi and I have had the breakfast plan before and it was good as well. At breakfast they have fresh fruits, pastries, cereals, juices, sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, pancakes, eggs and omelets made to order.

Lots of great places to eat on Bonaire. It is a shame to limit yourself to just the Divi. We were not at all impressed with dinner there. Maybe we hit an off night but would not want to eat there all the time.

I echo Darlene...too many restaurants in Bonaire to limit yourself to only Divi... Chibi Chibi is fine but you will appreciate the variety if you go out....remember, there is no traffic...you can walk to the Blue Moon (one of our favorites)

You also have to consider the fact that you may out on an outing, you are far from the hotel and are already hungry.

Although the Divi has good food at the Chibi, try to explore other places as well. I agree with all above about the variety and ambience of restaurants on the island. The Blue Moon, Mi Peron, Le Wok (don't be fooled by the name) I never saw any Wok cooking there, Richard's, Beefeaters, and the list goes on. I like the Chibi. The food is good, and the setting is beautiful. However, try to explore these other places. You won't regret it.

Thank you! Given your advice, we decided to not take the meal plan-breakfast only. We found out that we can always get the meal plan once we are there. The Divi is really very accomodating. They seem very flexible and answered so many questions very promptly.

I just returned from a week at Divi Flamingo. We had the meal plan. Breakfast was serve yourself and consisted of pastries, bagels, toast, scrambled and boiled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, fried potatoes, corned beef hash, and made to order omelets, fresh fruit and juices. Lunch and dinner are ordered from the menu and you may choose an appetizer or soup/salad, an entree and a dessert. Drinks are not included at lunch and only tea or coffee is included at dinner. Some items on the menu are more expensive and you are charged a $2.00 service charge for these items. A 15% gratuity is added to your bill and 5% tax. You may also add a tip for your server. So the "all inclusive" is almost all inclusive. The food is very good but the sevice is very slow. Plan on more than 1 1/2 hours for dinner. They are in the process of renovating an outdoor eating area. But Chibi Chibi was the only choice that we had.
