Hello Everyone! First time on BT, but have been reading posts for about a month now. Just booked our second trip to Bonaire for February 3rd - 10th and have booked the Cas Thomas through sunrentals. Anyone have any need to know's about the property?? Just curious, as we've already booked and from what we could tell it looked very nice. Thanks for any info.

We arrive for our second trip to Bonaire on the 11th, staying at Cas Thomas. Looked like a nice place to us also. We stayed at Casa Cia (just down the road)last March and didn't need 3 bedrooms just for the 2 of us. If you take a computer with you, would love to hear how it is and any info about the diving from the house. We also went thru Sunrentals and found them great. Bert delivered more than enough tanks to the house everyday.
Can't wait.

Thank you Freddie - it's great to get some inside scoop on Bonaire from those that have been there many times.

Judy and Rick, thanks for the info about Bert and the tanks. I was wondering how that was going to work out. Being from the beautiful PNW, we tend to go a little nutty when diving tropical - 6, 7 sometimes 8 dives per day - if our computers allow! How did Bert do the orientation dive?? Was it at your rental last year? It sounds as though we may pass you in the airport depending on flight schedules!!

Hi Mike...And welcome to B.T.!!They are in the process of building the Bellevue Condominiums (4 stories) next store (#62 EEG Blvd). So it may or may not get a bit noisy during the day depending upon what they are doing. We are monitoring the construction of same since we are one of the owners there.

Thanks Vince,

We'll be out diving all day anyway, so I don't think that will cause us too much concern (Other than not being able to sleep in possibly - oh well, rather be diving anyway) You don't happen to be from Portland, do you?? I work for Eugene Skin Divers!

Hi Mike.. No, my roots are in NJ. Hint...You can click on the poster's name to see their bio.
I'm sure you'll enjoy your vacation and be back for many more.. The area where you're staying is very beautiful with a nice small swimmable beach in front to watch the amazing sunsets! Also, the diving is great right out front about 75-100 yards out with EZ entry & exit. Have fun!!

Thanks again Vince,

The reason I asked about Portland was that there is someone with the exact spelling of your name that is a photographer that uses our shop. Coincidence - thanks for the tip on the bios! It sounds like a wonderful little place, can't wait for February!!!

Mike
We met Burt the following morning after our PM arrival on AA - the shop is next to Sunrentals on the north side of town. Just check with whoever meets you at the airport with the house keys in case that has changed. Burt gave us our briefing and weights and our tags and a nice brief of the dive sights right at the dive shop. If you dive from the dock at Buddy Dive resort you can use the tanks there and not have to haul yours. (It's an easy entry and exit for a night dive) Great restaurant there also.
We get to Bonaire Sunday night 2/11 on AA(hopefully!!)

Annette
Thanks for the nice words about Cas Thomas
Your shop was in the process of reopening at new location on our first trip, will definitely stop there in February.

Yes Annette, thank you, that's very nice to hear!!

Judy & Rick,

Thanks for the info about Burt. We'll be getting in on the 6:15 arrival on Continental, so we should be able to drop everything off at Cas Thomas and then head in for the orientation (want to begin diving ASAP - if you know what I mean!!!). I stayed at Buddy in January of '04, so am very familiar with their set-up and the diving right in front of the resort - which is great!!! Can't wait!!

Mike
