We have narrowed down our choices to two highly recommended establishments, but are torn between cost and location. Hopefully you can help with our decision. First of all, we don't dive but love to snorkel. We have never been to Bonaire and plan to explore the island. We enjoy a beach bar and meeting new people and in the evening we like to relax and watch the sunset. I know Eden Beach meets our needs, but can we have the same from GRI by walking a little and saving some money?
Thanks for your help!

Allison, the answer to your last question is NO!

Allison, hopefully someone who has stayed at GRI can answer your question about sunset viewing. Both are very nice places.

I do need to point out that the snorkeling at Eden Beach is OK but not great. Do it a couple of times and you'll see everything.

Welcome to the board Allison.
It really depends on what you want. GRI is less than 1 mile from Eden beach or Buddy or Capt Dons. All of which have ocean side bars (although Eden is the only one with a real beach)which you can walk or drive to. You don't have to stay at one of the places to go to their bar. It's also a fairly short distance to town. I have never hung around Eden beach at night but it it's anything like Buddies, it pretty much dies after 9 or so. If you are looking for more activity you may have to go down town anyway. If cost is an issue, I would go for GRI.

Hi Allison, and welcome:-)
I've stayed at both places, and Eden is definitely better for sunset viewing... GRI isn't on the water and is several blocks from the water with buildings in between. That said, both are great places (going back to GRI in 4 weeks!:-))
