I have been by this place a couple of times. Has anyone ever stayed there, or know anything about it? Their website is interesting.

James, that is the first place we ever stayed in Bonaire, must be about 13 years ago. We had a 1BR on the ground floor. Very clean, plenty of living space, nice little kitchen. I think we only used the swimming pool once, and at that time they did not have a dive shop on site. We were Bonaire newbies, for sure, and the downtown location was fine with us.

We also stayed there on our first trip in 1999. We enjoyed it -- except for the TINY bathroom. Only one person at a time could be in there, and we're not big people! Air circulation wasn't great, but the fan in the LR helped. Airco in BR was fine. Certainly clean, and the kitchen was fine.

Our next trip, we found our Bonaire "haven", Bonaire Town Homes, and have stayed there ever since. We love Bonaire so much we stay 5-6 weeks now and have have to be very cost-aware. BTH gives us all we need, and lots more, for a much lower price. Plus, Benny Robles is the world's-best innkeeper!!

Stayed for one night this year because we made a booking error. We were very impressed with the fixtures and fittings and we love Bert the on site dive master. Last Bite Bakery is just across the road too!!!.

Thank you all. We think we want to check it out next summer for my retirement trip. Oh yeah, did I mention I'm going to retire? LOL

Jim,

Are you going to retire to Bon?

We'll be happy to house-sit any time!

Will we see you in Bon for New Year's?

David

We have stayed there several times and find the location very nice, especially since my wife doesn't dive and likes to walk while my son and I dive. It is right on the promenade and close to downtown, which is nice for walking to dinner, especially if I plan to have a drink or several. Bert is great at the dive shop.

We have also thought about staying at Sun Ocean front...... but we have reservations about truck parking. We only shore dive.... so having a parking spot near the apartment is pretty high up on our list.

Off Topic.
David,
Are you going to be in Bon for New Years?
We are!
I wonder if J and L will have their New Years Day BBQ as usual.

David, yes. Kathi and I shall arrive on the 23rd of December via AJ. Phila-Montego-Bonaire. ETA about 1500.

Unfortunately, we have to leave on January 1st. Bonaire-Divi to Curacao-AJ to Montego-Montego to Phila.

We decided not to rent a car this time, because of the short time. We will be pretty much boat diving at the Divi. However, anytime you want to pick me up for a shore dive, I'm there. Just not 1000 Steps. I'm getting too old for that. LOL

There are 8 small parking spots inside the gated lot at Sun Oceanfront. You can put the small Hilux's in there with no problem. The newer bigger Hilux's can make it tight if there are several of them. We pretty much only shore dive anymore and in being there for two weeks, we only had to park outside the lot one time and that was because some selfish *&%^# took about 2 1/2 spots. Even then, it was only outside for about two hours. There are several spots outside the gate and are very close and you could pull in to load up your gear if you got stuck in one of them. The locked gate of the parking lot gives a perceived sense of security. Anyway, it works for us.

Jim,

Janet and Sarah will be arriving a few days before me, I believe the 22nd.
I have to work Christmas day and will be following them down. I'm busy trying to teach Janet to drive a manual transmission.
I think we leave the 2nd or 3rd of Jan.

We'd love to do some shore dives with you. And I'm younger than you by a bit but I do Thousand Steps by boat only!

Yana,

We left on the 1st last year and missed the BBQ at Jake and Linda's. We hope to make it this year assuming it's on.

David,

We'll start arranging some times to get together the closer we get. However, you always know where we are in the afternoon around 5 PM. I probably will break down and rent a car, so I better get on the stick with that now.
