My trip to Bon is coming up on the 12th. I leave Omaha at 1750 on Friday and will arrive in Bonaire at 0530 on Saturday. I have paid for the early arrival package, which I think includes breakfast and a place to lock up my luggage until our suite is available. The rest of my party will arrive at the airport at around 1300 that day. My question is, have any of you arrived that early? I know I can get the Marine Park Briefing done but my dive gear is arriving with the rest of my party, so I won't be able to do my check out dive. Any suggestions on what I could do in the mean time?

Well if it were me, I'd have my breakfast, go down to the beach at the Plaza, go for a swim & just chill.. After all you are on vacation.. Enjoy the ambiance. There's always time for cramming in dives..

I would add to Vince's comments, which are right on target, get in the water, walk to town - about 10 min. and/or go to the market and get everyone else's list and get that out of the way.. Even if you are not cooking, likely you will want some snacks and drinks in the rooms.

Yes we arrived early. Did the red eye on Continental . We got picked up at the airport at 5:45 am , got to the hotel, checked in , and went for breakfast. We were out on the beach by 8:00 am . It was great !

Diane and Bea, you mention being picked up at the airport at 545 am. Does that mean the vehicle rental for the plaza resort guest is at the resort and not the airport?

On their website's map I see abc car rental on property - however abc car rentals website indicates they have an office at cpt don's and not at the plaza.


I tried to email The plaza but they have not responded to me yet.

Russ, we had round trip transfers included in our package. The hotel bus picked us up and dropped us off when we left. This time we did not rent a vehicle, last time we used ABC car rental. It was arranged for us before we arrived. The vehicle was at Plaza when we arrived. Have a great time !
