Hi everyone

I'm planning my trop to Bonaire. I've read some great informations here.

I want to stay 2 weeks so I want to put my money in the diving and not food or lodging (budget consideration)
I'm thinking about an unlimited air package from Buddy dive, a car from budget and a place to sleep, I'm not very difficult, I'm use to do backpacking in my travel. Do anyone have opinions about Tropicana appartments? Casa atman? or coco palm garden. I found those on trip advisor.

thanks a lot

I stay in Bonaire for 5-6 weeks, so budget is also essential to me. Our place of choice on Bonaire is Bonaire Town Homes --- it's not just budget, it's very nice, the owners (who live next to their three rental bungalows) are wonderful and will do everything they can to give their guests the best stay.

They are located about 1 km from the center of town, are clean, comfortable, fully-equipped, and have lovely outside sitting areas with hammocks/chairs. We've been staying there yearly since 2000, and would never consider any place else. Their website is: www.bonairetownhomes.com

i like coco palm as a budget option...but you would then also want to consider a change in where you get your dive package (yellow sub/phototours is closer to that apt) - coco palms can also arrange a hassle free truck rental...

just my 2 cents ;)

(such a deal;))

Check out www.diveinnbonaire.com 7 apartments on the sea just north of the Divi. We stay in one of the seaside (3) appartments with A/C, bath with shower, kitchenette with all the trinkets, Diveshop on site with diveboat. It cost us the same money to stay at the Dive Inn for two weeks as it does at the Divi for one week. The price is right. The people that own the place are great! Good diving toya... Ron

Welcome to BT Jennifer! I've stayed at several places on Bon, some higher end than others, all of them great in their own way.

I read some wonderful stuff on the Black Durgon Inn on here and tripadvisor.com I'm still pinching myself that I'll be staying on the water for only $70 a night this Dec! It's nothing fancy like when I stayed at Lion's Dive..loved it, but I don't need a fancy room for almost 3 times the price.

I know they have a dive operation too, but can't comment on that being a snorkeler.

You will love Bonaire....Bon Bini! (Welcome!)

I'll add to Bob's vote for Coco Palm. It's a delightful place with lovely gardens outside each apt. Marion & Brigette are wonderful hosts - they can also arrange a vehicle and dive packages.

You should have a look on www.infobonaire.com there is a full listing of accommodations on there. I stayed at Hotel Rochaline in June
wwww.mainstreetbonaire.com/hotel.html
Room was $50 per night + tax cleaned daily, fresh towels etc and City cafe at the bottom of the stairs for reasonable priced food the only downside was Fri and Sat party nights, great if you want to drink and dance to 4 am, but not so good if you have to get up early to dive the next day.
I also considered going to Kaya Amsterdam apartments
www.bonairelodgings.com/amsterdam
Again $50pn+tax they look quite good on the site and quite close to town for all amenities.

I loved the Yacht Club Apts. They were clean and well situated. Jolanda was very helpful. There are 13 units and they have a pool.

Try The Lodge. Very clean and quiet, inexpensive. They have a large contained courtyard where you can drink at a bar or eat breakfast in the morning, yet you can be fully independent and to yourself if you want as well. Right off the main street by the Divi. They have a website.

Another place you might want to consider is Golden Reef Inn. I have stayed at Yacht Club Apts. and they are nice but, I like GRI better. Liz and Ed are two of the nicest people you can meet and they have really great packages. I normally stay on the island 2-3 weeks at a time so the budget is a major concern.

If you don't want a resort or a hotel like room but wish to be surrounded by beautiful gardens and sleep in a room that is wonderfully decorated then I would go for Coco Palms. We have stayed twice the first time in a little studio with kitchen and a fantistic fridge/freeze. The freeze was big enough to take several water bottle. We made our lunches and cooked dinners and ate over at their pool side a couple of times. It was just beautiful.
