Heading down for first time Saturday (7/22/06)

We are staying at Dive Inn and diving through same shop.

Interested in hearing any/all opinions?

Best restaurants nearby?
Less expensive lunch locations?
Nicer dinner spots?

Mark,
We have been going to the Dive Inn for years now and love the place! Babs, Harry, Peter and Babbette are the locals you will be dealing with and they are great people. Location is everything. The lodging is small for three but perfect for two. The Diveshop is on site and is good. Moonshadow is the diveboat and it is comforable and not crowded. No pool but the sea is just steps from your door. Cha Cha Beach is a good divesite and we have seen everthing over the years including eagle ray 2 years ago. The price is right. The cost of your diving is discounted by 10% each year you return. Babs also will discouint your lodging and boatdiving each year you return. If you have any questions just ask... Ron

We have stayed with the Dive Inn twice and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Babs and her staff are great. There are lots of great places on Bonaire but the Dive Inn was perfect for my needs. Dive shop right there, ocean & reef just steps from your door, excellent location - walking distance to downtown and other nightlife (should you be so inclined). It's not 5 star but then again, I'm not 5 star- so like Ron said, the price is right. It's a great location to people watch during the day and quiet at night - except for the donkey's, but they have a home now.
We didn't eat out a lot (cheap Canadian) but we did eat a few times at City Cafe. Excellent food and good price. They also have the internet there and it's quite a happening place. Beer's good too! Ohhhhhhh, try out their crepes. My mouth is drooling..... Have a blast - I'm so jealous.

mark, dive inn is really close to town and you can walk to almost all of the restaurants from there. mona lisa is great for dinner and the lost penguin is one of the best breakfast and lunch spots on the island.

have a good trip.

We have stay-ed there at least 8 times. I mirror everything good said above. Babs and Harry are very good people indeed.
