Hey everyone,
We've decided to book a week at buddy dive. Does it matter which room you're in as far as peace, quiet, views? Are there buildings rooms we want to avoid (for noise?). I know building 700 is ocean front. Do the other buildings still manage to have nice ocean views b/c of the way they are situated? Any specific suggestions would be MOST APPRECIATED!!!
thanks!
:-)

Rachel,
If you go here: http://www.buddydive.com/buddydiveresortmap.html you can see a map of the layout of the buildings. Buildings 1 thru 4 are on the side of the resort that used to be just Buddy Dive; the rest are on what used to be Lion's Dive before Buddy's bought them out. The Lion's dive side is probably a little more quiet, but doesn't seem to get quite as much light. The rooms on the upper floors probably have better views. None of them are really ocean front since the buildings are kind of angled. Here's the view from the porch of room 401, which is right next to the pool by the bar:

Rachel,

We have stayed at Buddy's for the last 7 years; sometimes twice a year. We ask for the same building each visit. We are partial to building 1 as it's right near the restaurant, dive shop, storage and water access. When it's two people they will offer a one bedroom which is normally a bottom floor unit. We have stayed in building #4, which is farthest from the dive shop and closest to the bar. We personally hated it.

Not because we're lazy and didn't want to walk far but because the lane that is there for you to drive up and load your car/truck sucks. You can drive up near your room/door but you have to back up to get out:-( Building 1 has a round-about that, if everyone doesn't park there, allows you to drive right around and get back to the parking lot without backing up. Truth be known, we stop long enough in the round-about to pitch out our gear and then one person in our party will take the truck back to the parking lot so as to not piss off the next party that might be doing the same thing. On occasion, during the day, you may encounter the Amstel truck dropping off his goodies to the restaurant but he's in and out without delay; it's us tourists that clog the round-about :-)

We are staying at Buddy again May 13th for one of our weeks this year. Our agent at Caradonna knows which building preference we have so it's painless for us. I remember that building 4 was quiet but then again I can't say that our building was loud :-) I just like being close to the dive shop. In short, I'm spoiled.

I don't think you will go wrong with any room at Buddy's. We love the people and the facility!

Hope you guys have a great trip!
