Hello fellow Bonaire fans.

This is actually a bit scary to place a message.
I'll introduce myself first.
I am Lilian and i am Dutch, so if my englisch is bad, please don't be to rough on my!!!:P
I life and work in Holland too, my and my husband run an inland vessel.
We went to Bonaire for 10 years and finely we will return after all that time.
We were to busy with our company the last 9 years to even think about vacantion.:P

Last year we went to Curacao but we really mist the atmosfere and the beautiful underwaterworld of Bonaire.
So this year we are going back!!! YESSSSS
We booked accomodation (ocean front studio)at the Eden Beach resort.
For 10 years we stayed at the Flamingo Beach.
I hope we don't be sorry, Flamingo was very nice but had a tiny tiny beach, and i really like to sunbade.

I made that dicision by reading this forum for a few months.
We are both divers and Wannadive sounds almost sounds to good to be true. :P
And Eden Beach as well, so we are really exited.

In holland there are no such busy forums for Bonaire!!!
So i hope i am not intruding at this almost all american forum.

We will be at Bonaire from 3 september till 17 september.
Anyone here booked at the Eden Beach at the same time???

Lilian, welcome to Bonaire Talk!

You will notice a lot of change to Bonaire when you return.

Do not worry, Eden Beach is a very nice property and WannaDive is a great dive operation, run by some fun people.

Lillian, welcome to Bonaire Talk! You will have a great time. Eden Beach is wonderful as is Wannadive and Bongo's:-) There are a lot of Europeans on the board, as well as a lot of folks from Holland:-) One of the moderators is from Holland:-)

Lilian, welcome, your english is fine (we do not worry about that anyway, even the native english speakers have problems). You will love Bonaire and Eden Beach. We stayed at Eden Beach last August.

The only thing we had for breakfast was an ommelote, a couple of times. It was very good (mmmm, golda cheese). I really do not remember what other choices they had. I can check again in a couple of weeks (as in 12 days).

Welcome, Lilian!!:-):-)

You will love Eden!
Breakfast is good. Eggs, bacon, toast maybe. Or bread and butter, fruit, more continental. They have several things on the menu to please different tastes.

Expect a ton of fun!

Smack

Sounds good!
I like everything at it's time, really enjoy pancakes for breakfast, eventough we are not used to eat them in holland for breakfast.
Nice lump of butter en warm sirop on them....hmmmm....hope they serve that one day!!!
And i'am glad to read that the have dutch cheese....well what can i say..i'm a dutch girl, so i like cheese. :P

Hope to make lots of divingfriends.
We wil come back every year from now on, we fell in love with the eiland years ago.
My husband is even talking about buying a house in the future.
For the last 10 years we never forgot Bonaire.
Why we wen't to Curacao last year is stil a mystery. ( maybe to conferm dat we are really Bonaire lovers???)

I was only wondering.
Does anybody know what kind of beds there are in het ocean front studio's??
My husband is very tall, almost 2 meters long.
So 1 queensize bed is probably not enough for the both of us, the beds are to short for him.
So he lies in bed diagonal.
At home our bed is 2 meter 10 centimeter long so no problems there.
Anybody who has stayed in a studio at Eden's??

(thank you all for your friendly welcome!! :D )

I am around the same height and the bed was plenty long and wide enough. The bed was very close to the ground which we thought was very interesting. If you fall out of bed it will be a short trip.

I will be returning to Bonaire after a 9 year absence and cannot wait! I will be bringing my family, husband, 8 year old daughter and 4 year old son. We have a time share at Divi and have heard mixed reviews of it's current condition.Any comments? I would never consider it a luxury resort but it was always great fun and clean, I hope that hasn't changed. I'd love any feed back anyone can provide. Thanks...
