I think we would be very happy at Sun Oceanfront Apts. But both Eden Beach & Lighthouse Beach also look nice.

Can anyone tell me any pros/cons to help decide?

The location seems really good for Sun Oceanfront -- how about the other two places?

Thanks for any help!

Hi Terri!

All the above have something different to offer. Depends on what you are looking for in an accommodation. You didn't specify what you want, so hard to say. Either of the three are very nice, I know a lot about LBR, feel free to click on my profile and email me if you want info on that. The other two I have not stayed at, but have lots of good things about them. I am sure others will chime in with their experiences at them. Just help us out and be a little more specific on exactly what you are looking for, price is another consideration as to where you stay. You can also do a search for them at bottom of page as some of them have been talked a lot about on BT.

Terri, I can speak for Eden Beach. A very nice small resort with everything right there. That is it's advantage. The rooms are nice, as is Bongos and the beach. WannaDive is just great and a ball to have around. We stayed there last August and are going back next month.

Thanks for the help. I think the rooms/units look fine for each. They are all in the budget category and that works :-)

What I guess I am not familiar with is where Eden Beach and Lighthouse Beach ARE and what is good/bad about their location.

I have read the Sun Oceanfront is oceanfront and very close to town and that seems to be a good location.

Also, the unit at Lighthouse Beach is near a pool, but doesn't say how near a beach it is.

Previously (a couple years ago when we had first planned to go), I had thought of the Yacht Club Apts. They seem fine also, except I know we would appreciate an ocean view or beachfront location.

Thanks!

Terri, Lighthouse Beach Resort is a private community of about 40 townhomes, mostly 2 bedroom, there are some 3 bedroom units. Now, there are units on the beach, then units around the pool and then a row of townhomes that sits by itself. The latter is about 100 yards from the beach, so all are close to the beach. The beach area is not a sandy beach, coral pieces mixed in as most beach areas on island are. LBR is located on the south side of the island, while Sun Oceanfront Apts. is oceanfront and Eden Beach is going north past town, also close to the water.
LBR has a large community pool, yes and it is for owner/guest use only. Was newly renovated with walk-in steps this past fall. Not all owners at LBR rent their units out, some live there year round, others rent out when not on island and others do not rent theirs out at all. Rentals vary at LBR depending on location, some being expensive and some much better in price. I would say it is about a 5 minute ride to town. Very quiet community. Hope that helps. :-)

Sun Oceanfront is in a great location. We rarely used the truck in the evening since we were close enough to walk into town for dinner.

If you like to night dive, Sun is very easy. We used to hop in the water and hit the reef. It was easy to spot the place to come back to by the two lights on the wall in front of the apartments.

LBR is nice and a reasonable driving distance to town. We have never stayed there, however.

Jeff
