Good Afternoon -- I am looking at renting a villa in the Sabedeco Area and I was looking for some information on this part of the island. I wanted to find out other's opinions on this section of the island in regards to view, crime, accessibility and overall impression of this area? I appreciate the assistance.

I just bought a peace of land at Sabadeco; in my opinion Sabadeco is beautiful!! it is prime location, the best on the island; the view depends of were you stay; most villas have beautiful view over the ocean; the terrace villas even better because of the above sea level.

We have rented in the area. I loved it and the reef is amazing because fewer divers get to it. However we did take a bit of extra care over our security because there are not so many people about. If renting a villa you might want to consider getting one that employs the local security company.

We have rented twice at a house called Crown Courts 44a. It is lovely and right on the water. But, we did get burglurized our 2nd trip and I noticed another family after us a year later actually got burglurized too where the thief's came inside the house when people were sleeping. This hasn't kept us from coming back though. We are staying at another Shores area house in March and look forward to it but maybe putting in some portable door alarms for the night time.

We rented for 2 weeks at Shores 46 in Sabadeco through SunRentals and had absolutely no issues.
It was a lovely home - great location just a couple of miles north of town and close to the ocean although there is no immediate beach access for the neighborhood.

Our gate to the car parking area did not lock, but the windows did all have the wooden shutters on them which we kept locked at night. We would leave music on during the day. Also the home next door was occupied by owners - although I don't think they are always there - perhaps that assisted in our "luck" at not having any burglary incidents.

We hope to return in early summer. I may consider bringing along a portable "dog" alarm and several doorknob alarms just in case.

We have been to Bonaire at least 7 times over the years with fantastic experiences and memories. Once about three years ago we went on an impromptu shore dive right after lunch and didn't want to take the extra time to return my wallet to the apartment. The "robbers" took my shorts with the wallet in them and took the tiny amount of cash that was in them ($5) but left the shorts and wallet with credit cards intact hanging prominently on a post just a mile up the road (one -way). I cancelled the cards anyway, but it was apparent they just wanted quick cash and were "kind" enough to leave my shorts and wallet for me to find.

We love the diving in Bonaire too much to be overly concerned by crime - as we all know crime is everywhere! In our sleepy town of 8,000 we just had a murder this weekend!
