Hello all --

I've been trolling through just about every thread here, trying to determine a few more things about Eden Beach from all you wonderful BTers.

Namely,

1) Can their 1 week Wannadive package be extended to 11 nights, and

2) If so, how much?

also --

3) Are there two separate showers or just one shower to be shared in the "quad" rooms?

I've already sent these questions to the folks over at Wannadive, who've said they'll forward it to Eden's office, but in case they're busy, I thought I'd ask here as well.

Thanks! :-)

Laura, if there are rooms available, the folks at WannaDive and Eden can arrange any package for you. You will have to wait for the resort or WannaDive to get back to you regarding the pricing.

The two room apartments have two showers on the second floor.

Enjoy!

Thanks so much, Tom!

On the second floor? So these rooms have two levels, then? Or...?

I received an answer on prices this morning, but not on the oh-so-important question of showers. :-) I think it's because the "contact" section of their website is set up for reservations, not direct questions.

Is there a better way to get in touch with someone there ('cos I got several more questions) or should I just contact the reservation desk again?

Yes, these apartments have two floors. First is living, dining and kitchen along with a water closet. I believe the e-mail address I always use to contact EB is: info@edenbeach.com

Thanks again, Tom; you're a gem! :-)

I emailed info@edenbeach; I'm sure they're get back to me soon, but I'm so excited about the prospect of staying in Bonaire that I just had to see if anyone on BT could tell me sooner -- and I was right.

I've also asked about the beds in the rooms; some places have a big bed in one room and two smaller beds in the other (for families with kids) -- and my group would consist of two married couples. Would we get a queen/king sized bed each, or would we have to push two twin-sized beds together? Personally, I could sleep on the floor, I'd be so happy to be there, but I can't say the same for my guy! Hehe.

OK. Back to work in cold Colorado. I think I have island fever baaad... ;)

UPDATE: Yes, we will be able to get two queen-sized beds for the two room apartment; as long as we remind them ahead of time. :-)

Here's my report from Eden Beach last August. Not as many pictures or as funny as Wally's but some good info about Eden Beach/Bongos/WannaDive.

That was a great one, too! I forgot to mention it. Thanks. :-)

In answer to the "shower" question. The quad apartments have two bathrooms upstairs, both w/showers. The room which usually contains two twin beds does not have a bathroom within it. That shower is in the hallway, between the two bedrooms. The room which contains the queen bed, has a shower in the room. There is another toilet-sink, downstairs. I just paid in full for my next Eden Beach stay. I can only ask that after you stay there, you keep it as quiet as possible, because it is thee best place on the island, attached to thee best dive shop, serviced by thee best bar. When you have stayed there, you will see what I mean.

Hello Laura,

I just want to point out the very large landfill/garbage dump that is RIGHT next to Eden Beach. There is a huge pile of debris next to the entrance of Eden Beach. Well, it was there in August of 2005 at least. There didn't seem to be food or that kind of garbage just general building supply debris. I only mention this because when I was asking about the hotel prior to my trip somebody mentioned this to me and I was very grateful when I saw what they were talking about. I am sure that the hotel is great like many people say...and this has really seems to have nothing to do with the hotel (unless it is their trash). However, it is something that I think is worth noting for someone who has never been to the hotel/Bonaire before.

Please note that I have NOT stayed at the hotel nor am I speaking about the hotel...just the eyesore next to it.

just my 2 cents everyone...don't want to offend anybody, but this board isn't about being a travel agent, it is for info

Scott it looks like the reminants of a old resort. All that is left now is some concert foundations and some coral rubble. It is actually a pleasant place to take a walk. This picture was taken in the middle of that lot.

Sunset

Scott -- I believe it's what's left of the old Sunset Beach resort:

(Can't tell I've been going through all the BT archives. Heh.)

Pretty pic, Cecil. :-)
