Does anyone have any info on this resort. Interested in the dive shop there. If it has a pier to dive off. Does it have storage area for equipment. Does it keep air tanks stocked for all day diving and night diving. How is the restaurant there. Also how are the rooms, Fully A/C or just in the bedroom. Hi Ric, welcome to BT:-)

1. Interested in the dive shop there. If it has a pier to dive off. Does it have storage area for equipment. Does it keep air tanks stocked for all day diving and night diving.

Yes to all. (not sure how they work the night diving, if you have to get tanks prior to the shop closing, maybe someone from Sand$ can help).

2. How is the restaurant there.

Yes, I had lunch there, it was very good.

3. Also how are the rooms, Fully A/C or just in the bedroom.

Only seen pics of the rooms, but they all do have AC throughout the condos, not just in the bedrooms:-) The condos are brand new and look very nice by the pictures.

HI!! The gear room at the dive shop is open until 9 pm. There are air tanks out 24/7, but the nitrox gets locked up around 4:30. You can put a nitrox tank aside if you want to use it at night.

I haven't eaten in the restaurant, but it is very nice. Good spot for sunset watching. Be aware that some of the rooms have only a parking lot view. But that is only the studios I think. The one and 2 BR are ocean view .

The rooms are very nice. I've never stayed there, but the reef there is my fav.

I have stayed at Den Laman and it is really very nice. The 1 BR had an a/c system in the living area and the BR, a great kitchen and a nice view even though it was not a seaside unit. Since it is brand new, everything was in great condition and very clean. The restaurant/bar was very good and the staff was great. Check out denlaman.com. I have a couple of nice pictures but I have to figure out how to make them smaller before I attach them.

hi sandy, welcome to bonaire talk. you'll love bonaire. i would recommend doing a lot of diving but not so much that you don't get to explore the island. it's a great place.

Anyone have any information about owning these apartments? I see that there are some for sale. What does anyone know about them?

Hi Pat-
If you haven't already, go to denlaman.com they can link you to the realtor. We are due to close on one of the units next week so, if you have specific questions I'd be glad to answer them. Maybe the biggest issue one might have is that it is a requirement to put the unit into their rental pool for 10 years. You get 6 weeks use each year but, are "guaranteed" a certain percent of income each year. For us, this works very well.

Ric - You are so lucky!

My husband and I stayed with Den Laman in mid-December '05 in the "Flying Fish" room which was really something special. Our room had a separate bedroom - A/C in both main room and in bedroom, and worked fine. Everything is very high end in terms of appliances and it looks pretty close to brand new. The balcony was spacious and overlooked the water, we took pictures that look very similar to those shown by Diane above. Hilde was our hostess and was very friendly and helpful.

It was very convenient for us as well - we LOVED the restaurant (ate all breakfasts there as well as many lunches and dinners) and very much enjoyed diving with Bonaire Dive and Adventure, right downstairs. Full service dive shop, lockers, plenty of tanks, small personal dive boats and excellent divemasters.

Would stay there again in a heartbeat (and we've stayed at many different places on Bonaire over the last 10 years).

My husband and I will be traveling to Bonaire for two weeks this summer. The 1 bedroom is about $900 more than the studio. It is worth is to pay the extra for the 1 bedroom?

We didn't see the studios when we were there but, the one BR is pretty spacious (to us). I would email Hilde and ask her the sq ft difference. The oceanfront 1 BR's have amazing views.

Ask Hilde if unit f is available. Is a mini one bedroom with water view and rents as studio. E-mail me if you want more details. Peter
