We stayed there in September and we are scheduled again for June. They continually work on updating the apartments and grounds. I believe all of bathrooms have been updated. The best part is the 2 docks on the apartment grounds. We used one of them to dive the Belmar House reef which is an excellent house reef. The views are great, especially at night when the grounds are lit up and also when looking north along the Bonaire shore line. You'll love it - go for it!

We love belmar. Actually even nicer than it looks from the pics on the website. We just got back from a twelve day stay, our 5th or 6th stay there and our 10th trip to Bonaire. Well-maintained, nicely furnished, clean, friendly staff, good on-site dive shop. Which unit did you book? If there is a choice we prefer the ground floor units at the north end. Unit 1 is expensive as it is somewhat larger end unit. #2 or #3 are our favorites - directly behind the 2 piers, unobstructed views of the water. The next few units are adjacent to the pool with maybe a bit more kid noise if that bothers you. The ocean is just beyond the pool and we're talking a few feet difference here. The next few units at the south end are closer to the office and dive shop so a bit more in the way of people traffic. All are nice and we've stayed in 2, 3, 4, 5, and 8. The house reef is quite nice and we always see unusual things there. The only squid we saw in 21 dives were at Belmar, 2 successive twilight dives. Slipper lobster, huge (50-60 lb) grouper, tarpon. Saw a large octopus right by the buoy in front of the dock. Others saw a spotted eagle ray that week. As long as you realize that with the exception of Great Escape across the street (hotel with restaurant, bar, internet access) you have to drive for everything else - 10 min tops to town, 5 min to the Plaza, 10 min to Lac Bay, windsurfing - You'll love it.

We stayed at the BelMar the week before Christmas and absolutely loved it. We really enjoyed the house reef, among the other dive sites we visited. We'll definitely stay there when we return.
