Hello All, I am the host and producer of a television show that features travel but more importantly diving. It has been suggested several times that we film in Bonaire, so I am looking for some help and information. I would like to get suggestions or maybe some contacts for any resorts that you may recommend in Bonaire. We usually trade with the resorts, accommodations and travel, in exchange for major television advertising and presence in our show. So if you have any suggestions, or know any contacts in a resort in Bonaire, I would really appreciate the information, and help. Feel free to contact me via this message board, or on my e-mail address at tgrisso@jwproductions.org

Thanks so much for your help in advance,
Tiffany Lynn

Hi Tiffany.
I am sorry to inform you that.
A) Bonaire has no fish in it's waters.
B) It rains all the time.
C) There is a new land fill in the center of town.
D) To many stop lights.
E) No wild life at all.
F) I hope you like hot dogs and warm 7-UP? That is all you can get at the snack shacks along the dusty roads. (I think they are hot dogs?)
G) Very hot, no AC.
H) Crime-crime-crime.
I) Bugs of kinds.

I don't want any one to know about my special place in the world, and the above is my way of saying go to Aruba.

All jokes aside. I would start my reserch at www.infobonaire.com and expand from there. Bonaire is very well setup for your project.
Best of luck.

I have to agree with Jerry and Herman, however, Tiffany, you may want to contact the Tourism Corporation Bonaire , go here they may have some leads for you to work with.

I would think Aruba or Curacao is a MUCH more exciting place to visit & film.. After all, Bonaire is just a desert island.

Yeah, who wants to see a film of a dinky little undeveloped desert island anyway? Now Aruba, that's a destination worth filming.

Tiffany, good luck with your research and I'm sure you will find our little island very charming and hospitable. Be sure to make time to visit the locals... the donkey sanctuary, Gibis for a dinner (if he's up and around), the grocery stores and fruit/veggie market.

You will understand if we aren't really happy about more publicity? lol. While it is great for Bonaire, we are very protective of our haven. ;)

All, I appreciate the information you have given me. I know you want to hide and protect your small island, and I can surely appreciate that. We have to shoot 26 shows, and I have been told by several places that Bonaire Diving is some of the best, so naturally I am drawn to a remote location like this. So I am sure we will be venturing to some of the other locations you have suggested, including Aruba . . . but I would really like to cover Bonaire. So again thanks for the information, I will look into the Tourism Board, and some of the various activities that are on the island. We not only cover the diving, but also any activities above the water as well, so I really like the Wind Surfing, and Marine Park. (I think featuring the Marine Park would be a great way to talk about Marine Life preservation, and how important it is to protect our reefs and the Marine Life. ) Who knows maybe we can do something with the Turtle Club as well. Again Thank You, and please if you have any more information regarding Bonaire, accommodations, diving, or activities, please feel free to post or e-mail me, tgrisso@jwproductions.org.

Tiffany Lynn

Tiffany, also check out www.supportbonaire.org, it lists several non-profit foundations that are on Bonaire, and how folks can help them.

YOu have to promise that if you do cover Bonaire, you need to add a blurb about Bonaire Talk. I'll send you a private email about what a great community BT is, and how this community helps fellow BT'ers, as well as supports the local non profits in need, like the Hoppner Foundation boys, the Donkey Sanctuary, just to name a couple :-) WE can also provide links to these wonderful stories (help you do your research)!

As Kelly and others have said, we love our little island and want to keep it a secret, and we love it so much we give like to give back to the community:-):-):-)

Thank you for the link to the supoortbonaire.org. I will check it out. The more information I have the better off I am when writing, and filming!

I can't promise that I can include Bonairetalk.com, but I will do my best. However, I will be able to include a courtesy graphic during the credits for bonairetalk.com. But maybe I can work it into one of my stand-ups.

Have a wonderful day!

yes I will definately let you know when we will be filming. Probably late January early Feburary. But I will give more specifics later. I am thinking of shooting two shows in one trip, Bonaire and Curacao. So that we don't have to fly to relatively the same area twice. . . but we will see.

Have a great one.

lol Jerry, you are bit scared of an increase in tourism I see. I don't think the reason the island gets less tourism is because people don't know about it as much as it is that it is not as easily accessible as well as it doesn't have as many resorts, party atmosphere, or beaches that most of the typical tropical locations have. At least from what i've read, since I still have yet to get there ;). Every place I read they always talked about bonaire as top 10 for diving in the world, and usually top 3.

Grenada is a much better island for lushness and diving. On my last dive in Bonaire, I did see a parrot fish as I was surfacing. That was pretty cool.

On Bonaire?!!!

What site?

What time of day?

Leaving for the airport in 36 hrs.

Looking forward to a cold one on your porch!

David,
I think Jim is pulling your leg.
I have been diving Bonaire for years, APX 1000 dives, and I have never seen a parrot in Bonaire.
I think I did see Queen Angle once, the vis was so poor I can't be sure, it could have been just some trash in the water?

Tiffany, need any help with your luggage? I'd be glad to send my resume for a position as your "executive administrative assistant responsible for anything and everything, always by your side during DIVING, etc etc etc whatever gopher jobs need doing right hand lady". I could even pre-assess all dive sites and scare off all dangerous critters to ensure your safety :-)

What a good laugh. If our budget allowed, then hell yeah! I hate carrying equipment. But usually when i am diving, I get the star treatment, because the captains, and deck hands all want to make the video. I haven't had to carry equipment, fix anything, or lift a tank yet . . . .love it! It really is a great job! Thanks for the offer . . .=)
