Can anyone tell me what is up with Remax. I cannot get them on the phone or on the web. We are coming to the island and were working with them for the trip. Thanks a lot. SG

Sam, Bob and Monique are good people, you will hear back, just keep trying. Maybe the lines were down, they do go down every so often or maybe your email got lost in cyberspace. Try again. Good Luck.

Sam, I always have mail to Bonaire as receipt requested, soi I know if the recipient saw it or not. Stuff gets lost.

I know they are really good people, I'm concerned that something bad has happened. We have been working w/Bob to purchase property there and now we are coming back in Jan and he was working on a place for us to stay. I'm worried because the web site and the phones both are down. Sam

Sam, have you tried the numbers on this website?

Maybe someone on island can fill us in.

Here's all the contact info from last week's Bonaire Reporter:
bob@bonairehomes.com
www.bonairehomes.com
599 717-7362
599 786-7362 (That's the cell; try that)
Fax: 599 717-7366
Remember to dial 011 first.
And remember that Bonaire is on Atlantic time. Now that daylight savings time has ended, that means Bonaire is one hour ahead of eastern time. And the lunch breaks tend to be from 12-2.
I'm sure you'll find Bob one of these ways. During the rainy season, the electricity goes off a lot.
Incidentally, the only reason I saw your post was that you wisely put it under "Local." Residents don't tend to read the "accommodations" section, but residents are most likely to be able to answer questions like this. Yet that's where your question now is posted. :-)
Tish

Tish, the website you just posted is the website that is down. The link that I provided is from the main Remax Realty website (and is funcitoning). I believe the problem Sam is having is in contacting Bob through email and phone...that's why I thought maybe someone on island might have more information on where Bob is. Can you try calling one of his numbers for Sam, and if you do get a live person, tell them what the situation is please?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Tish (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #482) on Thursday, November 10, 2005 - 12:10 pm:     Edit PostPrint Post

The cell phone should work. Bob will have it with him while he is out of the office. But if the electricity is out for a long time, then he won't be able to recharge.
Can't do anything more as I'm not there now. So sorry! Maybe Jake or Linda?

Tish, at least on my computer, this thread is located under "Accommodations" and not under "Local" as Sam is inquiring about accommodations he is trying to make with Re-Max.

So, you are a local... lol... apparently locals DO read the accommodations threads?? Or are you not counting yourself as a local since you aren't currently "on-island"??

Inquiring mind on a Thursday. :-)

Sam posted his question under "local" but then the moderator moved it. Fortunately I receive e-mail alerts about questions posted under "local" so that I can help BTers.
I would never had seen his question had he posted it at the place to which the moderator moved it.
He is more likely to get the help he needs contacting Bob from a local, which is why I suggested maybe Linda or Jake could help him. Their gallery is very close to Remax. They could walk over there. Hope they do. :-)

Gibi's is a restaurant where BTers have dinner on Tuesday nights. It's good local food, reasonably priced, and think how great the company will be!
Look in the dining section for details. See you there!

I guess this is one time being a Bonaire resident doesn't trump Freddie being a moderator/witch ! (whatever you want to call her... lol !!!) Freddie, I like witch better. ;)

Sam, I will email you directions to Gibis so you don't have to search around on the dining threads.
Definitely show up there though, you'll enjoy yourself immensely.

Ayo !

Moderators please forgive me for what I'm about to do on the Accommodations topic. Amen.

Directions to Gibis:

From the airport, go right (north) on Kaya International to Lisa Gas. Turn right on Kaya Industria and go to Nikiboko Zuid (right near where Gibi's used to be if you are familiar with that). Turn left onto Nikiboko and then left again at the first street on the left. Follow the road around to the right. Gibi's is the first or second house on the right. Kaya Hulanda 39. It sounds harder to find than it really is. I used these directions last month and drove straight to it! :-)

His on-island phone number is 567-0655 if you want to call ahead and let him know you'll be there. Sometimes it's easier for him to plan if he knows how many folks will be there. They ran out of fried chicken when I was there last month and it was near mutiny. Seriously. lol

ENJOY AND HAVE TONS OF FUN !!

After all this we had better show up at Gibi's. Does anyone here know Vronie Sieverding. And, if so, is she back on the island.
BTW, you can spot us at Gibi's by looking for the two obvious tourists from Wisconsin, Sam and Sammy. Sammys the cute one, 4ft 12 and long blond hair. I won't bother with my description, ask Bob:-)

We've just been posting the map in a lot of threads to help BTers get to Gibi's, and I thought we could probably post it in a lot more spots too. :-)
