WooHoo, Just received confirmation for Apt #4 at the BelMar for 02/24 - 03/04. Anybody ever stayed in #4? After 6 months of lurking on BT I finally get to post a question or two.
I think I read somewhere on BT that Buddy Dive was taking over the Toucan Dive operation at the BelMar, any truth to that? Should I contact Buddy Dive to request DM hire for initial shore Dives?

Lorrie, congratulations! You will LOVE Belmar:-) Buddy Dive does run the dive shop at Belmar. I would email Belmar and let them know you would like a DM to go on with you for your initial shore dives. They have a small shop at Belmar and employees that run the shop, so you don't need to contact Buddy Dive, contact Belmar directly. Again, congratulations and you will Love Bonaire, and Belmar:-)

Thanks for the quick response.
there will be four of us arriving on the new Continental flight out of Houston. Hopefully by Feb they will have all the bugs cleared up. Should I post our names in Everything else Bonaire section? there will be myself, my wife Jeannette (I know, you thought I was a girl with a name like Lorrie, Been hearing that for 58 yrs now), my sister-in-law and brother-in-law. My wife doesn't dive, avid snorkler though. The rest of us have between 15-20 dives. Only 111 days for us. This will be a fantasy come true for us.

Lorrie, yes, put your name on the list over in Everything Else! We have a Freddie here (on BT)...she's a woman ;-) There is a big boulder between the 2 docks at Belmar where a LOT of fish hang out:-) Also, there is a LOT of stuff between the dock, and the reef, eels, and tons of juve fish, take your time going out and coming back in:-)

Lorrie...you asked if anyone has stayed in unit #4...we have stayed in unit #6 (6 times) and they have the same floorplan...only difference is that #6 is in the middle and has a walkway next to it. We prefer the ground level units over the upper! (faster to get into the water!) We will be returning for our 7th trip to Belmar in June/July in unit #6...we are also taking Continental Airlines from LAX/IAH/BON. Have a great time in Feb/Mar!!!!

We have stayed in #4 four times and #3 two times. Was in #4 last May and #3 10 days ago. Both are great. The whirlpool/wading end of the pool is almost directly in front of #4 and it is a few feet further from water's edge and the docks than #3 (perhaps 40 feet vs 30 ft). Both have great views of the water and the sunset from their patios, and both are direct walkout to the pool, docks, etc. #3 gets a little more direct western sun in the late afternoon on both the patio and living room (because the shrubs that were previously there were lost during the 2004 hurricane, so if it is closed up, it can be a little warm. However both can units have nice breeze blowing through them if you leave the front door and patio doors open when either in the unit or on the patio. I am sure you will enjoy your stay.
