Hi,

Me and my family are looking for a place to stay in Bonaire. So far I've been looking at Windsock, Belmar and Ocean View villas.

I'm wondering if the airplane noise at Windsock is bothersome. I know for a fact that some of my family members are very light sleepers.

Can anyone tell me more? Good suggestions are also very welcome. We'll be coming to bonaire in february or march probably. We would like a place with some luxury. I've been to Belmar a couple of years ago and that was a real nice place to stay.

I stayed at the house directly across from Windsock Apts last May. The only aircraft noise at night was a KLM flight coming and going around 2-3 AM. It was quite loud, but we were able to sleep through it after a couple nights. If you are light sleepers, it may bother you more.

Is it 'Hmm, I woke up that is annoying' noise or is it 'Aargh! I'm scared to death and just fell out of bed because a 747 just flew through my bedroom' noise?

We have stayed there two or three times. We love it there, but the airplane noise at 2:45am is significant, and yes, could be compared to a plane landing in your living room, at least the first time you hear it. :-) That notwithstanding, by the second night you may not even wake up, and the rest of the place is very nice.

BelMar is absolutely great and there is not any noise from the airport. Occ you get a plane on approach coming from Venezuela but it is not really that noisy. We have stayed there 2 times and love it.
