Have any of you ever stayed at the Rose Inn in Rincon? If so what are your opinions of it?

By searching this site I know many of you have enjoyed good meals there there. What I am seeking here are your opinions regarding the quality of accommodations.

I am unaware of any accommodations at Rose Inn. We stop in every year for lunch after doing a drift dive from La Donias Leap to Karpata. I guess there could be rooms available though I have never inquired about them. The food is outstanding.

Jim, I didn't know they had accommodations either , until last week when a friend of mine that used to live in Rincon asked me to check out the property for her.

We have visited Rose Inn many times. It reminds us of Hemingway stories, parrots drinking beer, mocking birds mimicking shouting children, excellent stews in a very modest environment. It just makes you understand how wonderful life can be without the advanced and complicated amenities we take for granted. I would recommend a visit to the Rose Inn in Rincon for anyone who visits Bonaire but I don't think they have accommodations.

The last I heard, the Rose Inn DOES have accomodations.

We stop at the Rose Inn almost daily on our trips to Bonaire. We have become acquainted with the owners Jan & Malfina (Jan passed away this past May, however. RIP). Jan had introduced us to several people who were staying in his "rooms". He also mentioned that he was on some webpage advertising his accommodations.

But since his passing, I'm not sure what Malfina is doing - whether the rooms are still available or not.

But be aware; these are VERY basic rooms. They share bathrooms and showers with other rooms and with the bar patrons. There is no "diver" comforts or amenities for divers. The rate would no doubt be cheap, but I would guess most folks would consider it pretty rough. In addition, I'm not sure how often the maids visit......

But everyone should stop at the Rose Inn at least once.

Dave Goodwin.
