We're looking for a quiet, private home right on the beach for 2 people, where we can jump in and go diving/snorkeling. I've seen web pages for Frank's Place and Ultima Cas..... Has anyone stayed at those places to give us feedback, or do you have any other ideas?

Ultimo Cas is just up the street from us - we know the owner - nice lady originally from Maine. Someone who frequents BonaireTalk stayed there recently and had good things to say. Don't know much about Frank's Place.

Hello,
I have stayed at UltimoCas and the apartment next to Frank's place. I will tell you
a little about both and hope it may be of some help to you.
UltimoCas: We stayed there for two weeks last November and thoroughly
enjoyed our stay. The owner,Cheri, was indeed a sweetheart. She made our stay
complete, giving us anything we needed for our stay. Since there were only my wife
and I, we got a break on the price because we only used one bedroom. The house
was very comfortable. We thought that because it had no TV that we might get
bored but really enjoyed not having one. There is everything that you may need
including a BBQ grill. The apartments,BelAir, where Frank's Place is did not have a
BBQ grill because they said that the smoke bothers the other people in the other
apartments...mostly Dutch owners. Ultimo Cas
has a nice "beach" area with lounge chairs and the such. There is a nice entrance to
the water that Cheri keeps cleaned out and made easy entry. It is private. The house
is situated so there is a nice breeze coming through all the time. There is a nice patio
with a table at which we sat and watched the sunsets. Just beautiful!! We are only
snorkelers and this was our 7th trip to Bonaire and was by far our best
experience. There was more to see right there than at BelAir Apartments. Plenty of
fish and such.We snorkeled up to AndreaI and II from the house to the North and to
the webcam to the South. Both very easy, comfortable swims. I have Muscular
Dystrophy and had no problems what soever. I need easy entries.
BelAir: We stayed there two years ago for two weeks and it was nice. We rented
the apartment from Marina from the Donkey Sanctuary. At that time she was
managing a couple of the apartments. I do not know if she still does that or not. The
price was better through her. We talked to some people from the US that were
renting Frank's Place and checked out their apartment. All have different furnishings
according to the owners taste but were very similar. Entry to the water is via a dock
with a ladder. Realy needed to use airconditioning there because there was not the
window area to take advantage of the breeze.
Hope this helps. E-Mail me if you need more info.

Dean,
Thanks so much for the info about Ultima Cas--it sounds great. I may email you for more info, but as for a house on the water, with view, privacy, etc, it sounds like what we're looking for.

We have also stayed at Ultimo Cas and highly recommend it. We were there for 5 weeks in Nov 2000 and had a fabulous time! The owner Cheri is very nice and accommodates all your needs. The house is very clean, has everything you need (from kitchen to bathroom to bedrooms). We enjoyed sitting outside at the patio table/chairs watching the great sunsets. The beach is clean and has a very easy entry into the water. Our son (4 at the time) had a great time snorkeling there - he saw everything from midnight parrotfish, squid, eels, etc. The diving there is just as easy! We have previously stayed at other private homes on Bonaire, but Cheri's is definetely the best! You can email me at condoncom@aol.com for any questions you may have.
