Has anyone stayed at the Pelican reef and can give a review. Also how is the reef off that shore line? I know that all of Bonaire is great but is it far from shore, could I get an easy night drive and just swim back to the villa? Would I need to rent a car or could I bike around to the shops and resturaunts? Thanks for the help!

Hi Daniel.

My husband is the caretaker at Pelican Reef, so I can answer your questions....you'll have to ask someone else for a review (I'm biased :-)

The villa sits right at the ocean with your own small pier. You could easily dive right off the property and just swim back to the property - the only thing separating your living room and the sea is the beach and then porch :-) It is a very leisurely 5 minute bike ride to town shops and restaurants. You might check out www.pelicanreef.com for views and more info or e-mail the owner at larjaytee@aol.com

Hope this helps :-)

Annette

Hi Daniel - My boyfriend and I stayed at Pelican Reef last year and will be there again in late November. We loved the privacy and the easy access to the water. The caretaker Mark is very helpful, patient and friendly and will answer any questions you have about the island. We owe Mark and Annette a night out on the town this year - they couldn't make it last year - close to xmas and Annette was too busy. Sue

Annette and Mark,
Can the twin beds be converted into one bed? My husband refuses to sleep in twins.

Hi Julie. Yes, they can be pushed together. How nice that your hubby wants you near ;-)
